6 . Previously, the most readily available invisible ink was lemon juice. To use it, write with the lemon juice on ordinary paper, iron the paper with a hot iron and the hidden message will appear. The disadvantage is that the paper has to be destroyed to hide the message so no one else can read it.
Scientists have discovered a new kind of invisible ink. It is called water. All you need for this secret-messaging ink to work is to write with it on a super-hi-tech piece of paper coated with special chemicals. Shine a UV light on the coated paper and the water message becomes visible.
When the message has been read and needs to be hidden again, get out your hairdryer, and blow some warm air on the paper. Then the message will be erased and the paper can be reused, which keeps costs low.
The chemicals on the paper take in and give off light. The scientists found that putting water on the paper broke up the structure of the chemicals it was coated with. The water writing showed up darker than the surrounding paper under UV light.
Using hot air from a hairdryer for 15-30 seconds, you were able to reuse the special paper as many as 30 times because the heat reorganized the chemical structure of the paper coating. Without the heat from a hairdryer, the message stayed visible for up to three months.
The invention was made by a group of scientists in China, led by Qiang Zhao of the Institute of Advanced Materials, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

7 . Mrs. Hill was an English teacher at the new middle school I attended in the eighth grade. She wasn’t my teacher but I loved being around her and enjoyed her kindness. She was also a good Listener.
At the end of the year, she was moving to Florida, and I was sad. We exchanged addresses and became pen friends. I could tell her anything, and she treated me with respect even though I was a Schoolboy.
In Florida, Mrs. Hill became a lawyer, but she managed to find time to write me letters. She wrote amusing stories and always took my concerns seriously. She had given me an invitation to visit. I accepted it immediately, I spent three weeks with her in Miami. Her love of music and creative writing inspired me.
Two years later, Mrs. Hill surprised me by attending my high school graduation ceremony. Later that year, my family decided to spend Christmas in Florida and I couldn’t wait to see her again. When I arrived at her house, I had hoped to talk to her about school, but instead she was in a hospital bed. She had cancer. A month after we got back home, we were shocked to hear that Mrs. Hill had passed away.
To this day, more than 50 years later, whenever I read her letters again, thinking about the advice she gave me, I still remember the importance of her smile and her friendship. For me, she is a respected teacher forever!

It was one of the hardest weeks in Michelle Burleson’s life. Her beloved 13-year-old dog, Budgie Lou, just died. There seemed to be nothing in the world that could reduce her pain until she heard a faint (微弱的) knocking on her door.
“When I heard the knock, I opened my back door, but saw nothing until I looked down to see a skinny little squirrel looking up at me”, Burleson told The Dodo.
“I noticed the squirrel was thin, so I found a handful of nuts and threw them on the patio (露台).”
She assumed that would be the end of it, but that same evening the squirrel returned. The frightened animal ran away when Burleson tried to approach her. But it didn’t take long for the two to establish a routine(常规).
“She showed up the next morning at sunrise and again at sundown, like clockwork every day,” Burleson said. “Her daily visits gave me something to look forward to.” Burleson named the squirrel Stymie. “We slowly started trusting each other more and more,” Burleson said. “At first, I was scared she might bite me or something, but she was always very gentle.”
Stymie began treating Burleson’s home as if it were her own, drinking out of Burleson’s old dog bowl and sleeping in the dog bed. “I lived at the beach so I would often leave the door open, but when I didn’t, she’d climb up to knock on the window outside my bedroom,” Burleson said. “There’s no way I would’ve felt better without Stymie showing up one day and putting a little joy back in my life.”
The little squirrel probably has no idea that she changed someone’s life forever. “She was a really great friend at one of the lowest points of my life,” Burleson said. “All I know is that animals are the best.”
