I will tell you a story     1     is very interesting. It is about a good man    2     is called Tom. Tom married a girl     3     name is Jane. They live in a house     4       was built by Tom’s father. It is an old house     5     Tom was born. Tom likes to write stories and Jane loves all the stories     6     Tom writes. Tom once said he would never forget the day     7     he met Jane. Tom believes that Jane is the most beautiful girl     8       he has ever met. They are really a happy couple. Their children grow up in a family     9     their parents treat them like friends. We all admire the way     10       Tom treats his children.

I’ve enjoyed food from both countries ever    1     I was able to hold a knife and fork—and chopsticks, as I     2     (grow) up in England with a British father and a Chinese mother. Dad     3     (come) to love spicy dishes that Mum cooks. But there are still some dishes that Dad dare not try even after many years of     4     (marry) to my mother. Mum and I all love the food that Dad cooks for us, especially the roast beef and     5       (vegetable), however, Mum says that we’d better not eat too much roast food as it may make us     6     (suffer) from heat inside our bodies.  

I can still well remember my first visit to China. I tried different kinds of food and loved everything. But just     7     I thought I could deal with all Chinese food, I came across stinky tofu, a    8     (horror) grey thing that looked and smelt like a burnt sports shoe. After     9     (gather) all my courage to take a bite, I was amazed to find it wasn’t so bad.  

Now I feel at home    10     food from both my cultures.
