Now more and more wild animals     1     (enter) cities.     2     our cities become greener, they offer increasingly     3     (appeal) spaces to animals looking for new habitat. Out of reach from many of their natural predators, these newcomers often flourish in their new city lives. What's more, hungry animals can find plenty to eat in our gardens and in the leftovers. One thing crucial to the increasing number of “urban animals” is their ability     4     (adapt) . There is evidence     5     urban racoons are more intelligent than their wild cousins, as they frequently have to figure out difficult problems such as how to open rubbish bins and other containers. Some animals have even changed their living habits to fit in     6     their new homes. For those animals that don't adapt, the city can be dangerous. Recent     7     (study) estimate that between 400 million and 1 billion birds die from window impacts each year in the US alone.     8     (shock) , these deaths amount to around ten percent of the total US bird population. However they adapt to our ways of urban living, it's important that we have     9     better understanding of and even learn to appreciate our wild neighbours. Only then     10     we look towards harmoniously sharing our urban habitats.

At first, Lauren Bath regarded blogging     1     a hobby , but companies started paying her to take photos and publish them. In 2013, she was determined to make her dream come true: she would become Australia’s first professional photo     2     (blog). It was challenging,     3     she did it. Now she travels every month to take photos.

She first visited Western Australia     4     work in 2013. She has made over 140 work trips, but her     5     (good) work trip ever was to Broome in the Kimberley region. It is     6     (extreme) beautiful and people can experience the indigenous Australia there more than anywhere else. The Kimberley region, in particular, is unique and     7     (touch).

She tries to take every opportunity to get outside and admire the natural world. She loves to photograph the     8     (rise) sun , so she force herself     9     the natural world by waking early each day.

She uses her photography to make an impact on people, especially     10     it comes to environmental issues . She once posted a photo online to make others aware of the danger of feeding wild crocodiles.
