The day began like any other on Goldshore Beach. People were walking, running or simply sitting on the sandy beach, enjoying the warm sea air     1    and the soft wind that brushed their hair. Sabrina was one of the happy tourists     2    until she noticed something odd. “The water was like the bubbles on the top of a beer.” she later explained. “It wasn’t calm and it wasn’t going in and then out. It was just coming in and in and in.” Sabrina had just learnt about tsunamis in a Geography lesson． 她立刻想到了这一点     3    that these were signs of an approaching tsunami.

Sabrina was frightened，but she soon kept her head.她警告她的父母有危险,     4     though at first they just thought she was joking. However, Sabrina was certain that a terrible disaster was on its way     5    and kept asking her parents to talk to a safety officer, To her great relief, the officer immediately realized the coming danger. The beach was rapidly cleared of people, just before the huge waves crashed into the coast.

In order to make Beijing Opera wider and make the middle school students love and develop(发展) our Chinese culture, our country makes a project. That is to take Beijing Opera into students’ music classes.     3     现在很多的学生可以在课堂上欣赏京剧。

    4     However, only a few people think it important and useful for middle school students. Most people think that students are very busy with their lessons and it's a waste of time to learn Beijing Opera. Most people are afraid that some music teachers know little about Beijing Opera and its history. Most parents always ask “Is it useful for children's future to lean Beijing Opera?"

    5     We need a long way to go to make Beijing Opera come into classes.

I once studied in a British high school for one year. I was very happy with the school hours in Britain. I could get up an hour later than usual.

On the first day, all students attended an assembly in the school hall.     1     I sat next to a girl whose name was Diana. During the assembly, the headmaster told us that     2     the best way to earn respect was to devote ourselves to study. Because we had different classes in different classrooms,     3    对我来说记住所有的同学是件难事。I found the homework was not as heavy as what I used to get in China. However, it was a bit challenging. Luckily, my teachers gave me much encouragement. My English improved a lot, as I used English every day.

I liked cooking and also took many subjects. In the art class, I made a small sculpture.     4     I liked it very much though it didn’t look very beautiful.     5    我很幸运能够体验到这样一种不同的生活方式。

Yang Liwei was born in 1965. He had wanted to fly since he was a young boy.     1    他从小就热爱科技.     2    He always has a strong desire to learn how to fly. In 1983, he joined the army, and went to a flight school.     3    四年后他毕业了成了一名飞行员. In 1998, he applied to be a member of Project 921, which is now called Shenzhou. He was one of the only 14 selected from 1,500 candidates.     4    The team spent the next five years being trained. Yang scored among the very top in everything the group studied. In September 2003, Yang along with the other two candidates was picked for the Chinese space adventure. It was his high scores on the psychological tests that finally won him the status of China’s first astronaut.     5    His name will go down in history.

I’ve just finished my first day of senior high school and     1     我真的喜欢. I’ve been told that schoolwork will present more of a challenge in the years ahead, and that     2     the teachers will hold us to higher standards. This means I’ll have to put a lot of efforts into my studies. I’ll also need to be very careful about balancing my schoolwork and hobbies. This is all quite new and different from my life at junior high school, but I’m sure     3     我会应对这些挑战. In fact, I’m looking forward to being more independent and responsible for my own learning.     4     There is so much knowledge I need to acquire, so I will work harder than ever. I also plan to take advantage of every opportunity to improve my communication skills.
