There is     1     lovely panda. She lives with her parents and they lead a happy life in the forest. One day the panda     2     (pick) a huge pumpkin and wanted to take it home. But the pumpkin was too big for her     3     (take) it home on her own. She could do nothing but sit beside the pumpkin. She thought     4     if she waited there, she might turn to a passer­by for help.

Suddenly, she saw a bear     5     (ride) a bike towards her. She watched the bike and suddenly, she jumped and shouted     6     (happy), “I know! I have a good idea—I can roll (滚动) the pumpkin. It’s just like a wheel!” Therefore, she rolled the pumpkin to     7     (she)   house. When her mother saw the big pumpkin, which was     8     (big) than her little daughter, she was     9     (surprise), “Oh, my God! How can you get it home?” The little panda answered proudly, “I can’t lift it, but I can roll it.” Her mother smiled and said, “    10     a clever girl you are!”

Imagine     1     (fly) down a mountain at 70, 80, even 90 miles per hour. Ski racing is not for the faint of heart. It takes a rare     2     (combine) of skill and courage.

Consider then Ralph Green. He does it with one leg. “He’s hard at work, towards his goal of becoming     3     Olympic champion. More     4     (specific), a Paralympic champion.

“This winter Ralph and     5     (dozen) of other athletes will train for a spot on the United States’ Disabled Ski Team and the chance     6     (compete) in the Paralympic Games.

“We have people that ski visually impaired, with a guide in front of them. We have paralysed athletes who ski in     7     you call a mono-ski (单板式滑雪板). We have people that ski with one arm or someone like me that skis with one leg.”

Green grew up in Brooklyn and he     8     (lose) his leg in an accident.     9     Green is broken in body, he is firm in spirit.

“Don’t be afraid to be different. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.” And Green is speaking from experience. “I never thought I could have an impact     10     somebody else’s life.”

Whether it is a child, a teenager, a middle-aged person     1     an old person, everybody needs good friends.

During     2     (child), friendship helps us understand and develop the habit of sharing and caring. Small kids develop friendship faster than adults and they enjoy the company of their friends. They play and learn together. Making friends     3     (be) important for their proper growth and     4     (develop). As teenagers, friends become more important for us. We go     5     many changes during our teenage life. Many of the problems     6     (face) during this age cannot be discussed with our parents and other family members. However, we are quite comfortable communicating with our friends. Having good friends     7    can listen to our problems and offer us support and guidance is indeed a lucky thing during this age.

More and more people these days     8     (suffer) from mid-life crisis (中年危机). Their family, job, kid and almost everything around begin to appear     9     struggle to them at this age. Havin good friends at this time can help them a lot.

Friends are important for old people too. If they have friends around, their life remains     10     (joy) and interesting.

Whenever J tended to quit, they would say, "Be patient. You can't expect to improve anything           4     (significant) in just two weeks."
