The China Cultural Center in Paris hosted the “Nihao! China” Lantern Festival Culinary (食物的) Night at the Jardin Acclimatation amusement park in Paris on     1     eve of the Lantern Festival. During the event, the guests watched an ethnic music performance presented by five European-based     2     (musician).

Guests also     3     (visit) the Yuyuan Garden Lantern Show, which has lasted 72 days and covered important holidays such as New Year’s Day, Spring Festival and Lantern Festival. Themed “Classic of Mountains and Seas”,     4     shares the name of the ancient Chinese mythology (神话) of Shan Hai Jing, the show contains 2,000 traditional lanterns,     5     (allow) visitors to appreciate the spectacular art of Chinese lanterns and much     6     (rich) Chinese culture. In the food experience session, guests enjoyed traditional Chinese delicacies such as bingtang hulu and dao xiao mian, further deepening     7     (they) understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.

The “Nihao! China” Lantern Festival Culinary Night served     8     the closing event of the 2024 “Happy Chinese New Year” celebrations of the China Cultural Center in Paris. The “Nihao! On Friday evening, the 33rd Qingdao International Beer Festival opened     1     Qingdao, Shandong province.

The coastal city’s Party Secretary Lu Zhiyuan announced the     2     (open) of the 24-dayevent and Mayor Zhao Haozhi opened the symbolic first barrel (桶) of beer during the ceremony.

The event, which runs until August 6 at the Golden Beach Beer City in the city’s West Coast New Area, has introduced more than 2, 000 varieties of beer from more than 40 countries and regions.     3    (help) visitors enrich their experience, the festival has organized more than 300 music and sports     4    (event) on the theme of beer.

This year the festival launched China’s first beer-themed show, a great experience     5    combined sound, light, fireworks and     6     (variety) performances.

The festival is also on     7     occasion of the 120th anniversary (周年) of well-known Tsingtao Brewery (啤酒厂), with celebrations organized during the event. The Qingdao-based brewery established two huge beer tents,     8    (cover) 4, 500 square meters, which     9     (offer) beer, food and fine view.

Started in 1991, the festival has become a major event in the calendar of the city and become one of the four     10     (large) beer festivals in the world, including Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.

Celebrate National Day

China’s National Day is celebrated on October 1st every year     1     (mark) the formation of the People’s Republic of China. It is also known as National Day and National Golden Week.

The founding ceremony of New China     2     (hold) in Tian’anmen Square in Beijing on Oct. 1,1949,    3    the Government declared October 1st as National Day every year from 1950 onward.

As a great day in China, it represents     4     (independent), strength, and national confidence. The military parade has been     5     important part of the National Day ceremony. From 1949     6     the present, there are a total of fifteen National Day parades held. The number of representatives of the army, navy, and air force on parade    7    (be) generally around 10,000.     8     (usual), there is also a mass parade behind the military parade. In 2019, more than 100,000 people from all walks of life took part in it. The entire parade is broadcast live on all major TV stations.

On National Day, the national flag rises at 6:10 am in Tian’anmen Square. There are always people     9    (travel) long distances to watch the ceremony. There are also some other     10     (activity) like firework displays, light shows, and flowerbed exhibitions.
