1 . Events and festivals in Italy are some of the main draws to this historic country. The traditions, culture, and incredible art all come together to provide some of the biggest and best events in the world.

In 2024, the Carnival of Viareggio will host six parades in February. What once started as a simple parade with carriages in 1873 has now turned into a large event, with thousands attending each year to catch a glimpse of the famous allegorical papier mäché floats that tower above the promenade.

The 2024 Venice Carnival is bound to be one of the best yet. The theme is travel and discovery with a celebration of Marco Polo on the 700th anniversary of his death. Originating from Venice, the 2024 Venice Carnival is all about celebrating one of its most famed travellers. The iconic Italian celebrations take place between January 27th and February 13th with a host of fantastic feasts, sensational celebrations, passionate parades, and captivating costumes, transporting you to another world.

The Palio di Siena is a historic horse race where ten horses, each representing a different Siena neighbourhood race around Piazza del Campo. There are two races each year, on July2nd, the Palio di Provenzano, and on August 16th, the Palio dell’Assunta, While the races only last less than two minutes, it is the electric energy, prominent parades, and exciting celebrations leading up to the races that have kept this Italian event alive since the 1600s.

Each year between June and September, the Arena di Verona, a 1st-century Roman amphitheatre, boasts a true celebration of the art of opera with various performances. The2024 Verona Opera Festival takes place from June 8th through September 7th, providing visitors ample opportunity to see some of the most famous operas in the world in the country it originated.

5 . Tibetan New Year, also known as Losar, is the most important festival in Tibet and is celebrated for 15 days, typically falling in February or March.    1    The celebrations include a range of customs and traditions that reflect the unique culture and identity of the Tibetan people.

Before the arrival of the New Year, Tibetans engage in thorough cleaning of their homes and surroundings.    2    They also make offerings to the gods and ancestors to seek blessings for the upcoming year. Decorating homes and public places is a common custom during Losar. In addition, people also decorate their clothes with patterns, and their hair is styled in fashion.

    3    Traditional dishes such as momos, a type of steamed dumpling filled with meat or vegetables, and Tibetan butter tea, made from yak butter and tea leaves, are served. Sweet treats like Tibetan butter cookies and dried fruit are also enjoyed.

Tibetan people offer prayers and make offerings to the gods and deities during Losar. The offerings typically include food, incense and flowers.    4    

Music and dance are part of the Losar celebrations. Villagers gather in public spaces and dance around bonfires, singing and playing traditional instruments.

    5    People gather in public spaces and light incense and candles while offering food, drinks and other items to the gods. This is followed by the ceremony of throwing Tsampa, a roasted barley flour, into the air as a symbol of letting go of the past year and embracing new beginnings.

The customs of Tibetan New Year are deeply rooted in the culture and traditions of the Tibetan people.

Trio Solace

7 . New Year’s Concert 2021 with Riccardo Muti

The 2021 Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert took place on January 1, 2021, under the baton (指挥) of Riccardo Muti in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna. After 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004, and 2018, this year’s concert marked the 6th time that Riccardo Muti, whose close musical partnership with the Vienna Philharmonic has now extended about 50 years, had conducted the prestigious concert event.

The 2021 New Year’s Concert was broadcast in over 90 countries and followed by millions of television viewers around the world. The 2021 New Year’s Concert took place without an audience.

Due to ongoing high rates of infection, the Austrian Federal Government had decided that no concerts could be performed before audiences until January 6, 2021. Unfortunately, it also affected the Preview Performance on December 30, 2020, at 11 AM; the New Year’s Eve Concert on December 31, 2020, at 7:30 PM; and the New Year’s Concert on January 1, 2021, at 11:15 AM. We therefore refunded (退款) all paid tickets and kindly asked the ticket holders to contact us by e-mail.

Riccardo Muti has conducted the most important orchestras in the world, including the Vienna Philharmonic, an orchestra to which he is linked by particularly close and important ties, and with which he has appeared in Vienna and around the world since 1971.

The first New Year’s Concert took place during the darkest chapter of the history of Austria and that of the Vienna Philharmonic. On January 1, 1941, a Philharmonic matinee entitled “Johann Strauss Concert” was performed. Clemens Krauss conducted the concerts. In the years 1946 and 1947, Josef Krips (1902-1974) replaced Krauss, who returned in 1948 and conducted seven more New Year’s Concerts until 1954.

With the unexpected death of Clemens Krauss on May 16, 1954, the orchestra decided, shortly before January 1, 1955, to entrust (委托) Willi Boskovsky with the artistic direction of the New Year’s Concerts.

The AAA Texas 500: This NASCAR Cup Series held at the Texas Motor Speedway has been won by famous people. It typically takes place in November, but in 2021 , it will be held on October 26. Tickets range in price from $49 to $400.

Dallas Botanical Garden's Holiday: A “12 Days of Christmas”－inspired light display, this two-month show is composed of “25-foot-tall beautifully decorated Victorian-style gazebos (凉亭）”， the organizers say, and more than a million lights are hung around the gardens , on historic homes , and so forth. Holiday at the Arboretum will take place from November 7 to December 31, 2021.

Sundance Square Parade of Lights: Held each year in downtown Fort Worth, the Sundance Square Parade of Lights features more than 100 lights,marching bands, antique cars, an appearance by Santa Claus, and performers. Street seats are available for a fee but there are also plenty of free viewing areas along the route. The parade begins at 7 p. m. on November 22, 2021 , at the crossroad of Weatherford Street and Houston Street.

YMCA Turkey Trot:More than 25,000 people participate in this Thanksgiving Day 5K run/walk. Guests are asked to dress like a turkey and begin the charity race from Dallas City Hall at 9 a. m. In 2021,the race will take place from November 20 to 29.
