Many cultures have traditions to scare off bad lucks when people celebrate the New Year, which involves using fireworks like in China. But there are other ways which people do it. In Scotland, for example, people had the tradition of bonfire celebrations over the past few decades. Men from villages walk through the streets with giant fireballs holding over their heads. In Panama， bonfires are used to burning pictures of popular celebrities. Therefore, some traditions meant to avoid from misfortune do not involve in fire at all. For instance, people in Denmark find the highest surface they can and jump from itself. The hope is what they leave behind the bad spirits of the previously years and enter a New Year full of new beginnings.

Yesterday was my birthday, but many of my classmates sent me presents. My mother prepares a tea party for me. It was the third time that we have held a tea party. I invited all my classmate to attend it. They began the tea party at half past six. There was cold drinks and deliciously food. We ate, talked and laughed. We felt that we were happiest men in the world. Time was passed quickly. The clock on the wall struck nine. We had to say “Good-bye” with each other.

It is essential to take an useful summer vacation after the exam. There are many kinds of activity for us to take part. First, we can visit our relatives and friends or spend a happily time with our family. Second, seeing a film, listening to music or hang out with our friends will also be excited. Third, we should take more exercise to keep healthy. What’s more, we’d better to review what we had learned at school. Finally, it is necessary of us to do some housework, that can help our parents a lot. Above all, I hope all of us can have a pleasant vacation.
