Studies show that in 2022, 7,485 pedestrians (行人) were killed by vehicles in the U.S. That’s an increase of more than 65% since 2012. 10 . Paris, France is known as the city of love. Now, the city hopes to also be known as the most bike-friendly city in Europe. That’s because Paris is planning to improve its infrastructure (基础设施) to become a safe cycling place by 2026.

This is a major change from a city that was once considered harmful for bicycle riders. Now, city leaders are hoping for a 100 percent turn around.
