I flew back to New York from a spring break. My flight landed lately in the evening. I decided to taking an airport bus to the downtown area so that I could find a faster and cheap taxi to get home. It turned out that a bus was full of passengers but I was chatting with a few of them. I told that it was unsafe to be waiting for in the street to catch a taxi at midnight. One of the woman in the bus said that her car was parked near the station. So she offered me a ride to my home, drop me safely and did not accept a penny in return. I was so thankful for his kindness.

One day when we were playing the basketball, I saw Tim wearing a pair sneaker of my style. I thought they were my shoes, so I shouted angry and blamed him for using my personal possessions without permit. Then I went back to the dorm after he could say anything. I opened the door only to find mine own sneakers just under my bed. For a while, I stood there still, shocking and guilty. When realizing my act must have hurt him, immediately I rush to the court to apology to him sincerely. Fortunately, though he was angry and sad, he pardoned me. With my relief, the conflict ended happily.

Last summer, I took a part in voluntary work, helping elderly people. I delivered meals to some old people live alone. Nervous and exciting, I knocked on the door of a 90-year-old man on the first day. To my surprise, there is no answer. I kept knocking unless one of his neighbors turned up, saying the old man might have gone outside. Soon the man returned but accepted my meal. My experiences have shown that I can bring joy with old people. Everyone will face the fact when their parents grow older and become dependent on their children. The voluntary works has increased my confidence and I believe I able to help more people.

Three years ago I failed an important exam in my life and became a student at a ordinary school. Although I felt disappointed at the shabby campus and my poorly-equipped classroom, but I found the teachers impatient and considerate. Beside, I enjoyed the friendly class atmosphere. I decided to make the best it. I worked hard and got along good with my teachers and classmates. Whenever I had difficulties, they are always available. Soon, I became one of the top student in my class, that greatly increased my confidence and got me motivated. My experience tells me that it is not what you are given but how you make use of it that determines who we are.

After school today, I took a walk in the park, depressing and down. I have made considerable efforts win the talent contest, but I only finished fourth. Just while I was crying, a boy in glasses walked by. He noticed me and came over. He played me a piece of Beethoven’s symphony with his mobile phone. Beside, he said Beethoven wrote it as his hearing grew worse. Hearing his word, I was no longer in tears. I came to realize that if we put all our efforts into that we loved, we could create great things no matter what obstacles were in the front of us. I was true thankful for their encouragement.
