Out of a home bakery (烘焙) in Bowie, Maryland, a young businessman gives one cupcake away to someone in need, for each one he sells. Behind the operation is 14 -year-old Michael Platt. He runs a company    1     model is based on another company of charity.

Platt recently got     2       order for a few dozen cupcakes, and as promised, he doubled the order and packed up the extra cupcakes to bring to    3     (home) people on the streets. Now, he focuses       4       his business and charity, hoping to open several grocery     5       (store) for people who want to shop for affordable things. As if     6       (run) the bakery and charity is   not enough, Platt partners with No Kid Hungry and    7       (raise) money for the organization which helps children in need of food.

On Top of all of that, Platt recently gave a TED talk on being a young businessman. “Kids can do what they love to do and also be able     8     (help) people,” he said. “If everyone does   what they can to   end a   problem that they’re     9       (interest)   in, then the   problem will end.” The audience were    10     (great) inspired by his story.

Here is a story about an old wise man. One day, the wise man was on his way to teach a village. In the village people were very       1     (interest) in his ideas. Each person in the village had prepared well, thinking about       2     question he or she might ask the wise man.

A US teenager criticized（批评）on social media for wearing a     1     (tradition) Chinese dress to her high school prom（毕业舞会）defended her decision and has won support from netizens（网民）in China.

Keziah Daum, 18,     2     high school senior in Utah, faced a strong reaction from thousands online, some of whom accused her of “cultural appropriation（文化挪用）” after she posted four prom pictures on Twitter on April 22 that featured her wearing a qipao, a body-hugging one-piece Chinese dress for     3     (woman). “I     4     (praise) by the many people from China who have both reached out to me and have posted to social media their viewpoints. I thank them     5     the moral support regarding my decision     6     (wear) a qipao,” Daum told China Daily in an email on Tuesday. “I     7     (sincere) thank the outpouring of support I have received from the people of China.” Daum stood by her choice to wear the dress,     8     was red and orange with gold-and-black embroidery（刺绣）. She said on Twitter that she will not take down the original post. “The dress     9     (catch) my eye at first because of     10     (it) beauty,” she said. “I was also so happy to find a dress with a modest neckline. It is very hard to find dresses in America for prom which cover a women’s neckline.”
