Mike dreamed of being an animal researcher when he was young. He wanted to study the topics     1     (involve) why dogs like wagging their tails or the brain structures of chimpanzees. A video of a 66-year-old man called Erjiu, has gone viral on Chinese social media after his nephew Tang Hao shared the man’s brief but heartwarming life story on short-video platform Bilibili on Monday.

In the video, Erjiu is shown as a “young genius” who always performed well     1    (academic) at school during childhood. However, while he was a teenager, a high fever was misdiagnosed (误诊) and he     2     (give) the wrong medicine,     3     resulted in Erjiu losing the use of his left leg.

Before coming to China to teach, I wrongly assumed that there would be much     1     (difficult) for me since I couldn’t speak Chinese well. Nevertheless, while it presented some interesting challenges, I cannot stress enough how warm the majority of people I met     2     (be).

She was growing up, Camille Roberts always saw science in her future. Her parents are both doctors of chemistry and she wanted to follow     1     (they) example by going into research about     2     (medical).

Most people dream of living in a big expensive house. But Tim Shea just wanted to find a place     1     could become his home.

This 70-year-old homeless man had spent several years living on the streets until he became the first resident of a village filled     2     3D- printed little houses.

Shea was chosen to be the first person     3    (move) into Community First Village , a 51- acre site in Austin, Texas. The small houses in the village , like Shea’s 400-square-foot home, were built by the Austin-based start-up company ICON.
