Economy conditions
The cost of the study in China is relatively cheap, while daily expenses are not exactly the same in different areas. Respond directly to all the essay prompts (申请文书) regarding your professional goals, your strengths, and your learning needs with regards to a career in social work/social welfare.
Demonstrate how your prior experience might contribute to the Crown Family School classroom and a career in social work/social welfare.
Be sure to illustrate why you want to be at Crown Family School—what is it that we do here that you want to be a part of or are there any specific faculty (全体教师) with whom you want to work?
Remember that the essay is about both content and comprehension, so read and re-read your statement for content, flow, and to catch any grammatical errors you missed the first time through.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Your recommenders should be individuals who know you well and can evaluate your potential for graduate school education.
We discourage letters from friends, relatives, neighbors, doctors, etc.

The MPhil student is required to complete a minimum of 18 units of courses, including:
1. Two required courses (a total of 6 units).
2. Two elective courses offered by related programmes and departments (a total of 6 units).
3. A thesis (论文) guidance course every term from the beginning of the second year of study until the Master’s thesis is finally submitted (a total of 6 units).
4. Students are required to complete an MPhil thesis and pass an oral defense of the thesis.
5. English should be used in both the thesis and the oral defense.

About BFSU Enrollment
BFSU enrolls international students into full-time degree programs. Degree programs include bachelor’s programs, master’s programs and PhD programs. BFSU grants BFSU diplomas to the students who meet the requirements for graduation by the designated deadline, and degree certificates to those who meet the requirements of the degree programs. BFSU enrolls both liberal arts students and science students from all over the world.
Semester
At Beijing Foreign Studies University, each academic year is divided into spring and autumn semesters. Autumn semester often starts in September and ends in January next year, while spring semester usually lasts from February till July. Exact starting and finishing dates of each semester are subject to BFSU academic calendar.
Degree Programs
Bachelor’s programs
Duration: 4 years. Students will be awarded diplomas upon successful completion of required courses, the thesis, and the oral defense of the thesis. Those who fulfil the requirements for bachelor’s degree will also be awarded a degree certificate.
Master’s programs
Duration: 2 or 3 years, depending on the major. Students will be awarded diplomas and certificates for master’s degree after acquiring all credits, finishing the thesis as well as the oral defense of the thesis.
PhD programs
