7 . We were late as usual. My husband had insisted on watering the flowers in the garden by himself, and when he discovered that he couldn’t manage, he asked me for help at the last moment. So now we had an hour to get to the airport. Luckily, there were not many cars or buses on the road and we were able to get there just in time.
We checked in and went straight to a big hall to wait for flight to be called. We waited and waited, but no announcement was made. We asked for information and the girl there told us that the plane hadn't even arrived yet. In the end, there was another announcement telling us that passengers waiting for Flight L108 could get a free meal voucher (凭单) and that the plane hadn’t left Spain for technical problems. We thought that meant that it wasn’t safe for the plane to fly. We waited again for a long time until late evening when we were asked to report again. This time we were given vouchers to spend the night in a nearby hotel.
The next morning after a bad night because of all the planes taking off and landing, we were reported back to the airport. Guess what had happened while we were asleep! Our plane had arrived and taken off again. All the other passengers had been forgotten. You can imagine how we felt!

9 . It’s the end of August, and it’s time to start thinking about going back to school. For some, it’s a very exciting time. For others, however, they can feel very stressful. There are lots of things to do if you want to have a great first day at school.
Stay busy throughout the summer holiday. Usually those who struggle (挣扎) on their first days are people who spend too much of their summer holiday indoors and relaxing. So you should try to stay active and busy over the course of the holiday. There are lots of things you can do, such as getting a summer job or taking up a sport.
Continue learning over the summer holiday. People who struggle the most at first are those who aren’t learning over the holiday. Learning itself doesn’t have to be boring! You can learn about anything you want. Simply keeping your brain in the habit of learning will give you an extra advantage when it’s time to go back to school.
Spend time with friends that will attend the same school. If you have any friends living in the same neighborhood, there are chances that you will go to the same school! Make a point of creating stronger bonds (关系) with those friends. Spend part of your summer holiday with them, and grow closer. While there’s always some worry about going into the first day of school, having friends around that care about you makes it much easier.
Buy your school supplies. The most important thing you can do in preparation for your first day is make sure you have all of the equipment you need. Though the types of materials you’ll need differ from class to class, certain things, like pens and paper, will be used for all classes.

10 . I wouldn't describe myself as a fashion-lover and I don't usually spend a great deal of money on clothes. However, I do love cheap ones and I am terrible at throwing away old clothes. Some people cannot understand this. If it's old, why would you want to keep it? Well, the answer is simple. Clothes are memories and, just like memories, they can be sweet and precious.
My favorite jacket is a black and white wool one with a cool print. There are several holes in it, and even a big hole in the pocket when I happen to set it on fire ... Oops. I really should throw it away but I can't bring myself to do it.It reminds me of one of my favorite travels.I bought it in a market on the suburbs(郊区)of Lima,Peru. The first time I wore it,I was on a trip to an amazing water and light show in a park on that day.My friend and I had so much fun and I've made many memories wearing that jacket ever since.
It's the same with jewellery too. My friend made me a beautiful necklace with a piece of glass from the island where I grew up. She gave it to me so I would always have apiece of home with me. It's one of the loveliest gifts I' ve ever received and I haven't taken it off since then. Perhaps one day it will break somehow, but I could never throw it away.
