In the past three years, I have been great influenced by my best friend, Lucy. She is popular with all the classmates due to her kind as well as her positive attitude towards life. Generally speak, she is an excellent person who is worth making friends. I still remember the day that I told her I had failed in a math test. To her surprise, she gave me a warm hug and encouraged me. She said that we should never give up when face with difficulties. She kept telling me she believed I would make a great progress one day. Thanks to her encouragement, I finally get out of the shadow. How lucky I am to have so a nice friend!

Tina, 14, is a hard-working student. She studies hard, follows the rules at school, and do whatever her parents, teachers and even friend tell her to do. She seems to be used to say “yes” to everything. But Tina is not always happy about this. “Sometimes my friends invite me do something together, but actual I’ve got other plans,” Tina said. “And sometimes people ask too much favors from me. For an example, every day a student is on duty to keep the classroom clean, and there is one girl whom always wants to change shifts(换班) with me. I don’t feel like helping her, because I just cannot say ‘no’.” “I must make a change,” Tina thought to her.

I have a neighbor who are a hard-working nurse. One day, she asked me if I could help her to deal with a bookcase that she didn’t need anymore. I said sure and we loaded it in her car. As we were working on unloaded it at the garbage station, my next-door neighbor came over but asked if we needed help. He carried that big bookcase into the garbage station quick! I gave my nurse friend a book calling American Nightingale, a book about Frances Slanger—a WW II nurse. I know my nurse neighbor doesn’t have time cook much, so I gave some apple cookies where I just made to her. And some cookies would go to my next-door neighbor and her family. They were very pleasing. I love my neighbor.

It has been almost 7 year after graduation since we picked up our friendship. Looking back, I am always grateful for her step up to make up with me. Till now, she had been one of the few people I can trust and count on. Our major offered me the same background so that we supported each other in our profession development. Of course, we had the argument from time to time. But deep down, we both know all the argument is just about helping us to grow into a good individual instead enemies. However, we both learned to be tolerant and brave enough to always forgive. If we really value our friends and friendship, always cherish their presence and showing willingness to maintain and nurture the relationship.

As we all know, friendship plays a important part in our life. If we have close friend, we can not only share happiness with them but also get support and encouragement from them, that can make us live a much happier life. Unluckily, many young people misunderstood the meaning of friendship. They think anyone who help them escape punishment is a friend. In my opinion, a good friend is a friend who is honesty and willing to give you a hand when you in trouble. He or she is always telling you the truth and is willing to help you correcting mistakes. Beside, I think we must respect for our friends and treat them in the way we want to be treated.

Every part of my body ached and I had difficult sleeping. I live far from my hometown, because there was no one to take care of me except my roommate. But he was also going through the same problems with me.
However, he forgot that all his own pains. He tried his best to look after me, which moved us a lot. What fortunate I am to have such a loved roommate!

Dear Mr. Smith,
I'm writing to extend my sincerely thanks to you for your goodwill to me during your visit to London.
Originally I only wanted to call on you but convey my father's regards on my arrival in London the last week. But you insisted that I stay in your house and attend to my life as if I were one of your family member. Your kindness made my trip easier and happy than expected.
Words fail to describe what grateful I am. I would like you to come China and allow my family to returning your kindness.
Yours truly,
Li Hua

Steve, our monitor, is my best friend. We go skate, play football, talk about sports, and go to a concert. When I break my leg, he always came over to play games; in school, he carried my schoolbag for me and got our lunch for me. I know I can always count him, but he also knows that he can ask me for help.
Some friends may be in your life for the while. Others will be here for a long time, maybe even much forever. I would hate to move, until I could take my friends with me. They are too importance to leave behind.
