文章大意:这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了一个独特的太阳能音乐厅,包括其地理位置、外形、建造的格局、设计原理等。

2 . A company, called Mario Cucinella Architects, has made the House of Music, a solar-powered (太阳能的) building in Pieve di Cento that celebrates the town’s long-standing musical tradition. Designed to represent an orchestra (管弦乐队), the building is made up of nine small music rooms that connect to a central open space. The curved oak front not only helps to make sound louder like an instrument’s music box, but also ensures high levels of energy efficiency (效率).

Finished in 2017 after four years of planning and building, the House of Music of Pieve di Cento is located in the former Lamborghini (a famous Italian car company) production area that had been changed into a park. The recently completed building gets an advantage from a cycling path that connects the House of Music to the town center and beyond to an area to the south. There is also a wooden bench running around the building and creating resting places facing the park.

To prevent heat, cold, or noise from passing through the building, Mario Cucinella Architects used a special design for the House of Music. The flat roofs are topped with a series of curved and raised disks (圆盘) that help make unwanted sunlight change its direction and are engineered to bring more natural air into the building. The energy-efficient design was influenced by the architects’ (建筑师的) study of the site.

The nine music rooms open up to a central outdoor space that serves as a meeting area. The architects noted, “The House of Music’s outside lighting makes it a comforting place that encourages people to continue to do musical activities after the earthquake that shook the area in 2012.”

1. What was the purpose of building the House of Music?
A.To praise the town’s musical tradition.
B.To remember a famous local musician.
C.To attract people outside the town to visit.
D.To tell people about the importance of music.
2. What do we know about the House of Music?
A.It started to be built in 2017.
B.It is located in the town center.
C.It is supported by a famous car producer.
D.It is connected with other areas by a cycling path.
3. The architects designed the lighting mainly in order to ______.
A.encourage people to keep up their musical activities
B.warn people of the danger of earthquakes
C.make the building noticeable and attractive
D.make full use of energy
4. What is the best title of this passage?

3 . It was a Thursday night in September. Classes were done for the day, homework was complete for the night and excitement for the weekend began to stir (萌动). It was 9:00 pm and music filled the house with the upstairs hallway used as a dance floor. My roommate Lucy and I danced in the hallway with the booming music for an hour.

It was within that one hour that I realized how the world around me had stopped. Thoughts of how busy the weekend was going to be and the homework that was due Monday slipped away. It was just me, my roommate, our music and our hallway. It wasn’t until that night that I realized the importance of dancing it out and why everyone should try it.

Dance has always been a significant part of my life. I have loved to dance ever since I was little, and I had the honor of being on two competitive dance teams as a teenager. But dancing on stage feels different from dancing in your living room with the volume (音量) turned up and not having a care in the world if people walking past the window can see you.

When dancing in your hallway, imperfection is a priority. There’s no conveying emotions to the audience. There’s just releasing emotions. The feeling is freeing. When you dance it out, it’s just you and your music. No one is there to judge you. You can live in the moment, not worrying about the future.

So the next time you feel stressed, get up and turn on your favorite music. Let the music move you and free you. Sometimes in life, when you don’t feel like you have control of anything, you’ve to dance it out because you’re in control of the music.

1. What can we learn about the author from the first two paragraphs?
A.She loved classic music.
B.She enjoyed dancing in her private space.
C.She wouldn’t do homework at the weekend.
D.She was absent-minded while dancing in the hallway.
2. What is the benefit of “dancing it out” according to the author?
A.It makes us get cool and sharp.
B.It encourages us to become perfect.
C.It inspires us to communicate better.
D.It helps us have a relaxed state of mind.
3. Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A.Freed by Dancing.B.Dancing on Stage.
C.Controlled by Music.D.Listening to Your Heart.

文章大意:这是一篇说明文。从三个层面介绍了悲伤音乐确实能让我们振作起来的原因。

6 . Adele’s new album, “30”, is finally available. Last month, hundreds of millions of us streamed its first single, “Easy On Me”. This song arouses feelings not easily put into words, but we can probably agree it is a sad song.     1    Yet sad music does pull us in and lift us up.

Let’s start with a biological theory. When we experience real-life loss, or empathize (产生共鸣) with another’s pain, certain hormones are released within us.     2    They do so by making us feel calmed and supported. Feeling Adele’s pain, or recalling our own, may cause such chemical changes within us.

3    Feeling moved can come from us suddenly feeling closer to other people. Indeed, when we have listened to “30”, we may turn to reaction videos to see how others feel. This lets us share an emotional experience with others. And it boosts our feeling of being moved and triggers (激发) feelings of comfort and belonging.

We can also think at the spiritual level. Adele’s songs allow us to view the pleasure in terms of the meaning she helps us make. Adele takes hard life experiences and makes sense of them. This is what sad art does.     4    As philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once put it, someone who has a why to live for can bear almost anyhow.

Ultimately, we listen to Adele’s songs when we want to recall, reflect, or belong. They let us feel her sadness, share our suffering, and connect with others. To all of us, Adele’s songs say:     5

A.These help us to deal with loss and pain.
B.You are not alone in your pain.
C.Life is meaningless without sad music.
D.This may make us better prepared for when real loss strikes.
E.It takes the pain and suffering of the world and gives it meaning.
F.Few people are aware sad music makes us feel good.
G.Psychologically, a key reason we enjoy sad songs is that they profoundly move us.

文章大意:本文是一篇议论文,作者在文中分享了自己酷爱音乐的理由。

10 . Music is great because it comes in many shapes and forms and can be used for so many different purposes. This is one of the reasons why we humans, whether young or old, love music. I think it’s safe to say though that I like music a bit more than the average person.     1     When I’m home all day, I listen to music well, all day, and here’s why.

The first reason why I love music is that it helps me to relax.     2     What I’ve found is that it especially helps me to relax when I’m on the train going to or from work. Going to work it helps me to get into the right mindset (思维模式) for getting my workday started.     3

Another reason I love music is because I can dance to it.     4     Be it in class, at a party or at a club. All I need is some good music and I’m a happy bunny (兔子). Apart from that, singing along with songs also makes me happy so music has very positive connotations (含义) for me.

5     It makes my dark days just a little brighter and my happy days burst with (充满) sunshine. I don’t know what I’d do without music. Whether it is an old song from the 60s or something brand new(全新的): it all has its value and purpose to me. That’s what makes music so interesting: there is so much out there and there is something for everyone.

A.It really gives me a sense of peace.
B.I enjoy finding new music I don’t know yet.
C.Nothing makes me happier than a good dance.
D.A day without music is a bad day in my book.
E.Going back home it helps me to leave my work “troubles” behind.
F.Last but not least, music is simply an important force that drives me.
G.I do have to say that I only enjoy listening to English language music.
