4 . My 9-year-old daughter and I were flying from our home in Carolina to spend a week with my husband in Florida. We were excited about the trip because we hadn’t seen him for five months, and my daughter missed her dad terribly.
As usual on the Charlotte-to-Miami flight, the plane was totally full. Because we did not get our boarding passes until we arrived at the gate, Kallie and I could not get seats together and were separated by the aisle (过道). I asked two passengers in my row if they would exchange places with Kallie and me so that we could be together. They refused, saying they thought they should stay in their own seats. Meanwhile, a mother and her three children were in a panic several rows ahead of us. There had been a mistake in their boarding passes, and therefore the whole family had been split up. The passengers in her row also refused to move elsewhere. She was very concerned about the younger boy sitting with strangers. She was in tears, yet nobody offered to help her. There were a troop of Boy Scouts (童子军) on board. Suddenly the Scout leader stood up and said, “Ma’am, I think we can help you.” He then spent five minutes rearranging his group so that enough space was left for the family. The boys followed his directions cheerfully and without complaint, and the mother’s relief was obvious.
Kallie, however, was beginning to worry at the thought of not being next to me. I told her that there wasn’t anything I could do. Amazingly, the man sitting next to the Scoutmaster, turned around to me and asked, “Would you and your daughter like our seats?” referring to himself and the Scoutmaster. We traded seats and continued our trip, very much relieved to be together and watch the scenery from Kallie’s window seat.

Last summer holiday, I went to visit my cousin in Dalian by bus. The journey was not so comfortably as a journey by train. After getting on the bus, I choose a seat near the window so that I could look out or enjoy the scenes from the running bus. The trees, houses and lakes on both side of the road was beautiful. The old man was sitting near me. She told me about the various places in which I should visit. I enjoyed talk with him. After seven hours I arrived at Dalian bus station and my cousin was already there waiting me.

My family went on a trip to Mount Huang in Anhui, famous for its amazing sceneries, during the Mid-Autumn Festival this year. It takes us about five hours to get here by train. Once we reached the foot of the mountain, we got down to climb it. My parents and I were great impressed by the beautiful views along the way. About three hours late, we finally got to the top. We had lunch there and the food was tasted really delicious. We both enjoyed ourselves on that day but the trip was a truly unforgettable experience. To tell you truth, it is fantastic to be with my family.
We have arrived in the hot, wet city of Bangkok. This is our first trip to Thailand(泰国). All the different smells make us want to try the food. We are going to at one thing special for dinner tonight. The hotel we are staying in is cheap, and very clean. We plan to stay here for a few days, visit some places in the city, and then travel to Chiang Mai(清迈)in the North.
Tuesday, March 27th
Bangkok is wonderful and surprising! The places are interesting. We visited the famous market which was on water, and saw a lot of fruits and vegetables. Everything is so colorful, and we have taken hundreds of photos already! Later today cleave for Chiang Mai(清迈). We will take the train north, stay in Chiang Mai for two days, and then catch a bus to Chiang Rai.(清莱).
Friday, March 30th
Our trip to Chiang Rai was long and boring. We visited a small village in the mountains. The village people here love the quiet life—no computers or phones. They are the kindest people I have ever met. They always smile and say "hello". Kathy and I can only speak a few words of Thai, so smiling is the best way to show our kindness, I feel good here and hope to be able to come back next year.

My family took an amazed up to the northwest last summer. At the first, we flew to Lanzhou but then visited the famous Iron Bridge there. We also tasted Lanzhou beef noodles, which was the most delicious noodles I had ever had.Two days late, we went to the Mogao caves on the Silk Road. That impressed me most was the fantastic wall paintings. Finally, we reach our final destination, the Qinghai Lake, surrounded by mountains. The scenery was unbelievable beautiful. We found volunteers collecting rubbishes along the bank and we joined them too.Only then I realize we could make a difference to our environment.
