Li Daiyu and her cousin Liu Qian went to Canada to visit their cousins in Halifax     1     the Atlantic coast. They decided to fly to Vancouver and then take the train. And the thought of crossing the whole country by rail made them     2     (excite).

Before setting off, they visited the sights in Vancouver. Though it was rainy, they were able     3     (take)a boat ride out into the bay. The next day, they too a pleasant hike in a forest just a short     4     (distant) away.

The next morning, they took the train to Lake Louise and after     5     (get) off, a taxi took them to Lake Louise    6     they were struck by the beauty of the blue water.

Then they went to Jasper,     7     ( enjoy ) the beautiful scenery as well as many different creatures. There, they took the train to Toronto. One of the train's first stops was in Edmonton, which has one of the     8     ( large ) shopping malls in North America. From Edmonton, the train     9     (head)southeast across the great Canadian Prairie. They were amazed to see such     10     open country. All in all, it took them four days to get to the capitals of Ontario, Toronto.

3 . 3 Days Dunhuang Bike Tour

Going on a bike is a great way to explore the natural beauty of Dunhuang. Our tour is spent riding along the country road and the edge of town where we’ll pass by country houses, farmlands and vineyards (葡萄园) to show you the beauty of the little oasis (绿洲) in the desert.

Day 1

Meals: None

Accommodation (住宿): In Dunhuang

You will be picked up at the train station and moved to the hotel once you arrive in Dunhuang. Free for the rest of the day. Dunhuang is located on the western end of Hexi Corridor, at the meeting point of Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang in the Northwest of China. Known as Shazhou in ancient times, Dunhuang served as a rest stop for traders and due to its special geographical location, it was the gateway through which many religions (宗教) like Buddhism, Islam and Christianity entered China.

Day 2

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Accommodation: In Dunhuang

You need to get up and start biking early in the morning. First, we will ride 30 minutes to the Mogao Caves (10 km) and visit the biggest Buddhist art gallery of the world. After lunch, we will ride bike to the White Horse Pagoda which is located in the countryside (12 km) and was built in 386 A.D. in memory of the white horse of the greatest Buddhist translator, Kumarajiva. Then we will have dinner at a local farmer’s restaurant. In the evening, we will ride bike to the famous Singing­Sand Dunes and Yueyaquan (6 km). Finally, we will ride back to the hotel.

Meals: Breakfast

Accommodation: None

Be dropped off at the airport and call it a day.

Last year, Jack and his classmates made a trip to London. On his arrival at the airport, it was raining heavy. So they took a bus to the hotel, where was not far from the airport. The next day, they can’t wait to see the wonderful place of interest in London. They first went to the Elizabeth Tower, symbol of the United Kingdom. The guide told them the tower had been appeared in many films. Then they visited the British Museum. To their great surprise, they found much Chinese artworks displayed there. Felt very proud, they took a lot of photos but they really had great fun.

Last Sunday, sixty students from our school pay a visit to China Science and Technology Museum.

Though the visiting time was slight short, we gained a lot. It is so an instructive activity that we hope more will be organized in the future.

7 . On a sunny day, Linda and Jack were to try the new boat on the river. Linda jumped out of bed excitedly, got dressed quickly and woke up her brother Jack.

“It looked like a crocodile to me!” said Linda. “We’d better be ________ .” Just as they came round the next ________, the engine ________ and came to a stop. Linda ________ to start the engine again. But it wouldn’t start. They were ________.

“Let’s get the wooden oars,” said Jack. “Maybe we can   ________ the boat free.”

“We’re stuck on a sandbank,” said Linda. “We’ll just have to sit here having our ________ and wait for the water to ________ .”

“It’s boring!” said Jack.

Suddenly, they felt the boat move .It moved slowly off the sandbank. And the engine started again. Just at the same time they noticed a black __________ by the boatside and in no time it disappeared in the brown water ahead.

The boat turned and went into the smaller channel. On both sides grew thick unknown trees.
