There are many people who wants to protect the environment but don’t know that should be done. Here are a few tips that can help you lighten the burden on the heavily polluting earth.
Don’t leave any electrical appliance (电器) on careless if you are not using it. It can contributed to saving energy. In addition, recycle cans, bottles, plastic bags and newspapers if circumstances allow us to. Finally and the most importantly, be an educator. Talk with both your family and friends about global warming or let them be aware the importance of protecting the environment. One Saturday afternoon, Li Hua and Wang Ping were having an environmental protection activity in the woods while they caught sight of a bird on the ground. They picked it up and found it wounding. Thinking it might dies without timely help, they took it home. They made a nest for it and feed it with rice and water. It was with their treatment that the lucky bird gradual got recovered. When time came for it to fly the bird back to the woods, they felt a little pitiful but very delighted. In my opinions, their good deeds deserve more praise. Here I call on public to show respect for nature. Only in changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it.
Thanks for your concern in your letter about the smog which frequent strikes some areas of China. I’m also very worrying about such a terrible weather. It has brought much inconvenience or rather harm to people's health such as road accident, bad coughs and even lung cancers and so on.
It is known to all, good environment comes from careful protection. But we should do what we can protect it. I believe a small step can make a different. When I was a child, I hoped to live in the city because I think I would be happy there. Now I am living in a city, but I miss my home in countryside. There the air is clean or the mountains are green. Unfortunately, on the development of industrialization, the environment has been polluted. Lots of studies have been shown that global warming has already become a very seriously problem. The airs around us is getting dirtier and dirtier. Much rare animals are dying out. I want to take an action to put my family on the path to zero waste. First, I'll make sure the water in my house won't be left running when no one is using them and the lights in my room will be turned off when I left. Of course, I'll convince my parents to packing the goods in cloth bags instead plastic bags. Beside, I plan to do at least one environmental volunteer project with my family a week. For example, we can spare a few hour on Saturdays to serve at a restaurant but remind diners not to waste food. I'm surely we will be amazed at what much satisfaction we get from our work.

Since last year, the heavily smog has occurred in our city. The smog, that has made our daily life inconvenient, has also done great harm people's health. Many traffic accident have happened because of the bad weather. Besides, many people have to stay inside to avoid the harm air. What's the worse, many people have suffered from bad coughs, sore throats but other serious diseases.

We live in the countryside. Most of which we see is the beauty of nature. One of the exceptions to the beauty is the litter some people throw out their windows as they are driving on the roads. One of the few drawbacks to living in the countryside is that public service, such as litter collection, are little available than they are closer to the city.
A helping habit that my family practise regularly are picking up litter in our surrounding area. We have become so accustomed to do this that my little brother will often say, “There’s some litter. Daddy, stop the car!” and we would often pull over and pick it up. It may seem strange, and we actually enjoy it. We pick up litter in parks, on sidewalks, practically anywhere. Once I even saw a complete stranger picking up litter close to where we live in. He smiled at me and said, “I saw you doing it, and it seemed like the good idea.”

Last Tuesday was a special day, the Earth Day. My classmates and I do a series of activities to arouse for the awareness of protecting our planet. We watched a movie, what made us realize that the earth is getting hotter but the ice at the North Pole is melting. Then we excited went to the park to plant trees. But digging holes for trees was such hard thing that we were all tired. In the afternoon, we collected cans, bottle and newspapers, and then took it to the recycling center. We donated the money we earned to a charity calling “We Are Together.” It was really a meaning day.
