Rocky Lyons was five years old when his mother Kelly was driving through rural Alabama. He was asleep on the front seat of their truck     1    (盘起双腿). Suddenly, the truck turned over down to a valley. Rocky moved out from under Kelly,    2    (溜进) through the open window and tried to pull his mother out. But she didn’t move. Fortunately, a car stopped and the mother and son were rushed to the hospital. It took 8 hours to rebuild Kelly’s face. Rocky     8    (踱来踱去), waiting worriedly outside the operation room. 5 year-old boy just couldn’t stop crying his heart out. No sooner had the doctor told Rocky his mother was fine than he     9    (冲进) the room. Until his mother was asleep, then he    10    (蹑手蹑脚) quietly out of the room.

Danny was nearly knocking into a passing car when a passer-by pushed him to safety.    1     (他眼里含着感激的泪水，哽咽着感谢这个过路人), “Thank you so much!”   But the passer-by just smiled warmly.    2    (彼得在寒冷的天气里，感到一阵暖意), he began to believe there was kindness in every corner.    3    (看到陌生人之间这般彼此关照，实在令人感动).    4    (深受感动), the crowd clapped their hands loudly. Paul shouted through the window, “Get in the car quickly!” Mac jumped off the bicycle and into the back seat of the car     1     (毫不犹豫地).     2     (在他的帮助下), Mac was safe. “Oh, my goodness, my friends are still repairing the bicycle!” shouted Mac. Paul drove the car back quickly. Luckily, a few minutes later, they found the other two cyclists. Mac     3     (松了一口气)and said to Paul, “     4     (没有你的慷慨相助), I would be the dinner of the wolf.”   Hearing this, Paul    5     (笑了起来).

    1     (被周围的美景迷住), Tin     2     (没有意识到即将到来的危险). A drunk driver knocked him down,     3     (使他受了重伤). His legs split and bled. A crowd of people started to surround him to see what was happening. They    4     (惊讶地注视着), open­mouthed. It was then that the first­aid knowledge Mary learned     5     (涌入了她的脑海). She covered the wound with a bandage to stop bleeding. Her timely help made a difference to Tin's survival. The incident confirmed Mary in her decision to become a doctor in the future.

My car broke down,     1     (在路上晃来晃去). I dare not drive it any longer, and stopped the car by the roadside.     2     (太可怕了)!     3     (害怕被野兽袭击) and eager for help, I     4     (抑制不住痛苦的泪水). Three hours later, a Mexican family pulled over and helped me. I thanked them and     5     (鼓起勇气) to ask them for some food. When their little daughter offered me all her snacks, I     6     (非常感动) and words almost failed me. The next day, I posted the story on my blog.

Susan was caught in a car accident and fainted. She was blind forever,     1     (陷入了愤怒、绝望、抱怨和自怜的世界中). All day long she frowned, grieved and     2     (以泪洗面), feeling as if a knife were piercing her heart.
