The first religions started thousands of years ago,    1    people began to believe in spirits. These spirits were usually believed    2     (control) things such as fire, wind, water and animals. There are many tribes around the world still    3    (follow) this type of religion, and they believe that some spirits are good while    4     are dangerous. The people in these tribes often wear necklaces     5    (make) from animal teeth or bones because they believe that this will protect them     6    sickness and harm. According to the traditional     7    (religion) beliefs of the Karen tribe from western Thailand, there are spirits living in houses, fields, water, rice and trees. They believe that the spirits must all     8     (give) presents of foods because if they are hungry, there will be great suffering and burdens for people to bear. The most important person in the Karen village is the priest and he is consulted     9     (regular) about sacrifices and other     10     ( ceremony).
