A giant
Snow White is a beautiful princess(公主). The king and the queen love her very much. People love her too. One day, the queen is ill and dies(死了) soon.
The king has a new queen. She does not like Snow White because she is beautiful. The queen asks a hunter(猎人) to kill Snow White. The hunter takes Snow White into a forest but lets her go.
Snow White finds a house in the forest. Seven dwarfs(小矮人) live in it. They help Snow White.
One day, the queen comes to the forest. She gives Snow White a poisonous(有毒的) apple. Snow White eats it and falls asleep.
A prince sees the sleeping Snow White. He helps her. Then Snow White wakes up.

The Lantern Festival is one of the traditional festivals in China. It is on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. People usually light lanterns at night and eat tangyuan at the festival. Why do we light lanterns? Here is a story about it.
A big, beautiful bird flies over a village(村庄). It is a pet of the Jade Emperor(玉皇大帝). Three men in the village see the bird and want to catch it. They run after the bird and hurt it. The bird can’t fly and falls into the mountains.
The Jade Emperor waits for his bird, but it doesn’t come back. He looks down and finds his bird. When he knows how the bird gets hurt, he becomes angry and decides to punish the three men. He calls his daughter and asks her to burn(烧毁)the village.
His daughter is kind. She goes to the village and says to the three men, "My father is angry and he will burn your village on the fifteenth day of this month."
The three men don’t know what to do. They ask a wise(智慧的) woman. The woman says, “You can light lanterns and fires. The village must be full of fire and noise(嗓音). The Jade Emperor will think the village is on fire.”
The three men do as the wise woman says. The Jade Emperor sees the fire and hears the noise. He thinks the village is destroyed(被破坏的). Then he forgets all about the village. The village is safe.
