In December 30th, after two weeks’ training, we finally began our work as volunteer guide in a museum. During the first two weeks, I was learnt a lot about the stories behind the artworks. In order to do good in the work, my teammates and me made full preparations. We first worked out a careful plan. Then we practiced use proper body language to explain the artworks better. The month-long volunteer work has now come to end, from what I understand that it isn’t easy to be a good guide. Besides, I also realized how important teamwork is. I believe that I will get lifelong benefits from the short and meaningful experience.

On snowy winter night, a bus with 45 passenger had an accident because of the wet road. And all of them were trapping in the bus and what’s worse, the bus runs out of gas and it was very cold in it. They could do nothing but to wait for help. A man who lived nearby saw that had happened. He and some villagers succeeded in open the door and helped all of them out of the bus. He took them to his home but offered food and water and even some warm clothes to the children. They spent two days in their home and finally help came. All of them were thankfully for his help.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard my name calling. I was chosen to play the leading role in Cinderella, that was my dream. As a shy and thin girl, I used to be quite afraid of speaking in the public. But my parents and teachers always encourage me to do so. Now I have changed great. In class, I am often the first one to stand up and answer question even if I may make some mistakes. No pains, no gains. Now I am always brave enough overcome the difficulty in my heart and have changed in a lively girl. So my experience shows that we should not be afraid of losing face but only in this way can you make progress.

The classmate I want to thank most

In the past two years, I have been received lots of help from my dear classmates, among which, Wang Lin is the one I want to thank most.

Wang Lin, our monitor, is an active but optimistic young man. He likes playing football and piano. Being helpful, he always does everything in his power to help whomever needs help. I have every reason to expressing my sincere gratitude. Firstly, with his encouragement, I’ve become quite confident. Besides, I won’t have made such rapid progress in my studies without his help. Most important, it’s under his influence where I’ve become an excellent volunteer.

I’ve learned many good qualities from him and I’ll always be grateful with him for his generous help.

Richard is our foreign teacher, whom is from England. He has a interesting way to make his classes attractive and lively. For example, in last Friday, when he explained the meaning of “crawl” to us, he did not just tell us their definition from the dictionary. Instead, he lay on his stomach and move forward on his hands and knee slowly. We watched him with interest, laughed loudly. Thus the concept of the word rooted in our mind. Richard can speak some Chinese, and his pronunciation is not well. However, everyone in our class considers him an excellent teacher.

I’m Wangtao. I’m written to tell you my opinion about employing a foreign language teacher.

They are two factors to take into consider. For a thing, the sense of humor is necessary for a teacher, who makes his class interesting and lively. For another, ensure efficiency in teaching and learning, the foreigner’s ability to speak Chinese matters much, so only with the help of Chinese can they communicate with each other smoothly.

Various of activities out of class, such as English Evening and English Corner, should be organized by the foreign language teacher, which brings the students more chances to communicate with the teacher and improve his oral English.
