Your attitude plays a big part in your everyday life and can influence how your life may turn out in the future. If you have a good attitude, you’ll be the kind of person who works hard and you'll live the kind of life many would admire. Here are some tips which can help you improve your attitude.
Spend time with those who share your positive attitude. This is a must if you want to improve your attitude. The people you surround yourself with most of the time will reflect upon your life. So always make sure that these people share your positive attitude and lift you.
When you take action, always take steps to act with a purpose, to that your actions are in line with your values. For example, Walt Disney’s main purpose is to “make people happy”. So next time you act, think of your purpose and improve your attitude while doing so!
Being polite when given help or asking for it isn’t a hard thing, yet so often we forget these simple words, especially with those closest to us. If you want to improve your attitude, use “please” and “thank you” every time you’re given the opportunity.
If you want to improve your attitude to life and to those around you, stop comparing yourself with others. It's human to compare our lives with others', but when we do it too often we can drag(拖)ourselves down. So spare yourself the worry and stop comparing; only focus(集中)on your own life and you’ll be much happier in the process.
Gratefulness is one of the most powerful attitudes in your life. If you want a better life, give thanks for all that you have each and every day. Gradually, you'll receive more things to be thankful for!
So how’s your attitude today? Does it need a little fine tuning?

Mr. Chen: It seems that when it comes to your parents, you have a lot to complain about. Li Hua: You read my thought. They only care about my academic performance!!! Mr. Chen: Do you want to talk with them about your feelings and your study? Li Hua: I don't want to tell them about my feelings, because they can't understand me. Helping your teens adjust to their new high school
Switching peer groups, adjusting to a new academic schedule, and leaving behind old friends can be very hard for adolescents. Use these strategies to help your teen adjust to a new school.
Keep a positive attitude
The adjustment period begins before your teen ever steps foot into the new school. Offer a balanced outlook by acknowledging the challenges of moving, but also recognizing that a new school may offer exciting new opportunities. Point out the new opportunities that’ll be available.
Avoid saying things like, “Oh, you’ll make new friends right away, so don’t worry about it,” or “It’s not a big deal. I used to change schools all the time.” Instead, say things like, “I understand you’re worried about how to stay in touch with your old friends.”
Listen to your teen’s concerns
Acknowledge that change can be hard. Comfort your teen by saying you know it will be hard for him/her to leave his/her school and friends.
Your teen might not express their feelings with words but you might see some changes in their behaviour that indicate they are stressed out about the move. Keep asking questions about their biggest concerns. Are they worried about new teachers? Do they doubt their ability to make the basketball team?
Learn about the new school ahead of time
Carry out as much research as possible about the new school before your teen starts attending. Get your teen involved in finding out about the size of the school, the types of classes offered, and extra-curricular opportunities etc. Most schools have websites that offer a wealth of information.
Talking to a guidance counsellor or coach ahead of time can also be helpful. If possible, arrange for your teen to have a tour of the school too.
If at all possible, help your teen meet some students from the new school before the first day. Seeing a familiar face or two when they are the “new kids” can go a long way towards helping them settle in.
Life is full of changes. Someday, your teen will likely need to adjust to a new job, a new home, a new boss, and living with a partner. So changing schools can be a good practice for embracing changes.

Recently I graduated from high school, and as a gift I received a huge hunch of flowers, 40 to be exact! I had so many that I didn't know what to do with them. The next weekend my niece and nephew, Sue and Mike, aged 6 and 7, came and suddenly I had an idea. I might let them give out these flowers to people they met on the street, and in this way they could learn how to be friendly to others. So I told them about my plan and explained that these flowers would make people feel happy and smile. They loved the idea and were eager to have a try. So at once we took every single flower and tied a smile card to it. We then went to the street with the flowers.
The first flower went to a policeman. As soon as she saw the policeman, my niece ran up to him and handed him a flower. His smile was so big, but hers was even bigger!
In no time, we neared the end of our flowers. It was lunch time and we went to Subway for lunch. There the kids gave a flower to the waitress, who was really excited to receive the flower. As we were eating our lunch, the waitress came up to the kids with two big chocolate cookies! She said the chocolate cookies were for them and that she really liked the flower! As they ate the cookies, my niece and nephew looked at me with the biggest smiles I had ever seen.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
With just one flower left, I said it should be given to the person who needed it most.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Arriving in Sydney on his own from India, my husband , Rashid, stayed in a hotel for a short time while looking for a house for me and our children as we would go there when he made everything settled.
During the first week of his stay, he went out one day to do some shopping. He almost got lost in those unfamiliar blocks. When he came back in the late afternoon, he discovered that his suitcase was gone. He was extremely worried as the suitcase had all his important papers, including his passport. For a while, he was overwhelmed with depression with no one to turn to.
He reported the case to the police and then sat there, lost and lonely in a strange city, thinking of the terrible troubles of getting all the paperwork organized again from a distant country while trying to settle down in a new one.
Late in the evening, the phone rang. It was a stranger. He was trying to pronounce my husband’s name and was asking him a lot of questions. Then he said they had found a pile of papers in their trash can(垃圾桶)that had been left out on the footpath.
My husband rushed to their home to find a kind family holding all his papers and documents. Their young daughter had gone to the trash can and found a pile of unfamiliar papers. Her parents had carefully sorted them out, although they had found mainly foreign addresses on most of the documents. At last they had seen a half-written letter in the pile in which my husband had given his new telephone number to a friend. My husband was so excited about the return of the suitcase. Meanwhile, the kindness of this family made him feel that this place could be a new start, a new home for a brand new life.
