| One Monday in March, 2020. Via the internet. Mr. Chen: Since school is closed these days, do you miss your school time? Li Hua: Definitely! You know, I even feel that our head teacher is so nice! Mr. Chen:.…Really? Li Hua: I am absolutely sure. Whenever I get a lower grade in recent exercises, my parents are always angry with me and keep scolding me. Mr. Chen: It seems that when it comes to your parents, you have a lot to complain about. Li Hua: You read my thought. They only care about my academic performance!!! Mr. Chen: Do you want to talk with them about your feelings and your study? Li Hua: I don't want to tell them about my feelings, because they can't understand me. I know, they love me, but they often push me to work hard, which puts too much pressure on me. |

It is important that you teach your baby to read at an early age. Why? Obviously, being able to read is the basis for any successful education, so the earlier they start, the better. All too often, parents leave educating their children up to schools, which probably explains why the United States is currently ranked 18th in its rate of reading and writing.
Teaching your baby to read provides brain exercise and it has also been shown to increase the baby’s IQ because there is simply no better time in a person’s life for learning than when they are babies. During this time, their brains are developing rapidly. The sooner they begin to read, the sooner they can begin to learn other subjects. This way, by the time your children begin school, they will already know what’s being taught, and will be put on the fast track. Maybe they will even skip a grade down the road. One of the cases was 17-month-old Elizabeth Barrett who drew public’s attention. She was given a series of words and even sentences that she could read quite well. Her parents had been reading to her since she was born and had provided her with a very early education.
Reading is the most important thing to teach babies at a young age. It doesn’t have to be stressful or difficult for your child. Learning can be fun at such an early age, and it can be accomplished so easily that they won’t have to struggle in order to learn.
If you’re interested in teaching your baby to read, the best way to start is by spending just a few minutes every day. Flash cards are a helpful tool. Simply show your baby matching picture on the opposite side. There are also videos that help to teach babies to read. There is no better time to teach your baby to read than the present.

Learning to write effectively
I’ve been writing for most of my life. The book Writing Without Teachers introduced me to one distinction and one practice that has helped my writing processes tremendously. The distinction is between the creative mind and the critical mind. While you need to employ both to get to a finished result, they cannot work in parallel no matter how much we might like to think so.
Trying to criticize writing on the fly is possibly the single greatest barrier to writing that most of us encounter. If you are listening to that 5th grade English teacher correct your grammar while you are trying to capture a fleeting(lasting only a short time)thought , the thought will die. If you capture the fleeting thought and simply share it with the world in raw form, no one is likely to understand.
The practice that can help you past your learned bad habits of trying to edit as you write is what Elbow calls “free writing.” In free writing, the objective is to get words down on paper non-stop, usually for 15-20 minutes. No stopping, no going back, no criticizing. The goal is to get the words flowing. As the words begin to flow, the ideas will come from the shadows and let themselves be captured on your notepad or your screen.
Now you have raw materials that you can begin to work with using the critical mind that you’ve persuaded to sit on the side and watch quietly. Most likely, you will believe that this will take more time than you actually have and you will end up staring blankly at the pages as the deadline draws near.
Instead of staring at a blank, start filling it with words no matter how bad. Halfway through your available time, stop and rework your raw writing into something closer to finished product. Move back and forth until you run out of time and the final result will most likely be far better than your current practices.

“Acknowledged, Detective. This is my...”
He hung up and told the driverless UNATS Robotics car to get him down to the railway station as fast as it could, angry with himself and with Ada—whose middle name was Trouble, after all—for making him deal with a robot before he’d had his breakfast. The name had been his ex-wife’s idea, something that she’d insisted on.
His ex-wife. He hadn’t thought of her in years. Well, months, weeks, certainly. She’d been a brilliant computer scientist at the UNATS Robotics school at the University of Toronto. Now she settled in her own research lab in Beijing, providing the kinds of software solutions for robot applications.
He itched to wiretap her, to read her email or listen in on her phone conversations. He could have done that when they were still together, but he never had. If he had, he would have found out what she was planning.
He could have talked her out of it.
“And then what, Artie?” said the nagging voice in his head. He couldn’t stop her from chasing her own dream—making the smartest robot in the world, especially with their little daughter in her belly.
“Shut up!”he told the nagging voice.
Paragraph 1:
In a few minutes, he was at the front gate of the railway station.

From high up in his skinny apartment building, Pieter could see the canal stretching in all directions. Every Saturday, Pieter watched for Grandpa riding toward the building on his bicycle. But today, Pieter knew that his grandfather wouldn’t come. Pieter would not hear the ring-ring of Grandpa’s bicycle bell. And there would be no Saturday afternoon picnic in the park. Last week, Grandpa had a knee operation, Now he needed a walking stick to provide assistance―and Pieter didn’t know if Grandpa would ever ride his bike again. Sighing with worry, Pieter was lost in thought. Would he ever again hear the ring-ring as Grandpa approached?
That’s when Pieter had an idea. He grabbed his birthday money-l0 euros-from the top dresser drawer. Then he hurried to tell Mum his plan. A few minutes later, Pieter ran down the stairs of his building and burst into the afternoon sunshine. His bike was waiting for him. Pieter wore his helmet and pedalled down the bumpy road, Ring-ring sang his bicycle bell to alert walkers that he was coming. He pedalled past the hardware(五金) store in the corner. He pedalled past the window washer who whistled a she worked. And he pedalled two more blocks before arriving at the market. He loved the market’s sights and smells.
Pieter’s euros clinked(叮当响) in his pocket a she walked through the market, examining each table. He stopped at a fruit stand, chose two shiny apples and paid two euros. Then he stopped at the cheese table and asked for half a pound of cheese, handing the waiter three euros. Pieter placed the items in his bicycle basket and pedalled back toward home. Imagining his Grandpa walking toward him joyfully accompanied by the ring-ring sound, Pieter whistled a merry tune.

It wasn’t the candy he wanted. It was the skateboard (滑板). Daniel had been staring at it for weeks, every day on his way home from school, admiring it through the window of the skate shop on Market Street. It was a longboard — a serious skateboard, not meant for tricks or speed, but for long rides down hills, on busy roads, or all the way across town. This was a skateboard that could change Daniel’s life. No longer would his parents have to pick him up after school, or at the movies. The longboard would be able to take him home.
One day, he told his dad he wanted to buy the skateboard.
“Dad,” Daniel said. “It’s the world’s finest skateboard. It could change my life forever.”
“That’s great,” said Dad. “I’m all for kids having hobbies. But that’s an expensive little toy, and…”
“It’s not a toy!” Daniel felt himself about to lose his temper (脾气). But he collected himself. “It’s a whole new way of life. When you were my age, what was the thing you wanted more than anything else? The thing you dreamed about?”
“A Vincent Black Shadow — the world’s finest motorcycle. A more beautiful piece of machinery has never been designed.”
“So yeah, this board is like the Vincent Black Shadow for the 21st Century. So you see why I have to have it.”
“You know what my dad told me when I asked for a Black Shadow?”
“What?”
“Nothing. I didn’t ask him, because I knew he’d think it was nothing more than an expensive toy. I went out, got a job, and started saving.”
“Man,” Daniel said, a bit disappointed. “I was afraid you’d say something like that.”
“You can do it, can’t you?”
Daniel never worked before, but now he decided to get a job to save money for the skateboard. He walked up and down Market Street looking for someplace to work. The pizzeria wasn’t hiring. The coffee shop said he was too young. The only store with a “HELP WANTED” sign was Orson’s Confectionaries. Mr Orson’s candy store.
Paragraph 1:
Daniel had heard kids talk about buying something in the candy store.

Will On-line Teaching Replace Traditional Classrooms?

Due to the increasing number of violence acts produced in schools all over the world, more and more parents prefer to have their children educated at home rather than at school. This way they can ensure their safety and well-being, although teachers and school representatives are trying to improve the situation in schools by increasing the number of the persons in charge of the safety of the students.
The main reason for violence acts are the films and cartoons that fill the children’s time. They want to do everything they watch on TV and never think of the consequences, and they may hurt a classmate or a teacher.
On the other hand, parents are not fully satisfied with the children’s results obtained in classes and they consider private classes would have better results. When a teacher has to watch 30 students in class he can’t probably see what each of them is doing, how he is writing, or if he understands the explanations. At home the teacher can explain in details everything the child doesn’t understand as many times as he considers proper. And many times the child grows fond of the teacher at home, who becomes his best friend, and who helps him whenever he needs someone to talk to.
However, the best solution would be a mixture between the education received at school and that at home, because school makes children communicate and socialize. Keeping a child at home for fear there might happen something bad to him only makes the child’s character weak and prevents him from knowing what real life is. Staying in a crystal ball only does harm to the child.
All in all, schools have been created to help children, not to harm them, so it’s best to keep children in these special places, where they learn, laugh, have fun and make new friends.
