It was a very busy afternoon. The store was fill with many people. I select a few things as quickly as possible but then went to the checkout. There I found many people waiting their orders to be checked out. I was worried, thinking he would be late to pick up my two child. Just then, an old man, which stood in front of me, said, “You don’t have many things. Why not just going in front of me?” “Thanks, but you don’t have many neither,” I said. He just smiled and stepped away to make the room for me. I was so thankful.

Dear Mrs. Green,
I am so glad to hear from you. While it has been several years since you taught us English, but I have missed you a lot, think about those happy moments we spent together. Actually, I have been doing pretty good in my studies as well as in my life. Apart from my academic studies, I always manage to find time for what I am interested. For example, I have successfully got admitted as a volunteer for a 13th National Games, which is scheduled to be hold at the end of this August. To get admitted, I have made good preparations in advance, trying to know as many as I could about my city, Tianjin.
By the way, it’s my sincere hope that you can spare some times for a visit to Tianjin again, where has changed a lot since 2015.
I’d appreciated you if you could let me know beforehand whether you can come or not.
Yours

Dear Dr. Health
I am very overweight. Since people often laugh to me behind my back when I ride the underground or going for a walk, I am embarrassing and do not like going out any more. Certainly, I do not feel comfortably going to the gym to work out. Instead, I prefer to exercise at home, and it seemed that I am always going on a diet. But, no matter what I do, my efforts to lose weight always end in failure.
As a matter of the fact, my friends say that I am an attractive girl just the way I am, and that I should not worry at all about my waist or my figures. However, I do worry that my weight might damage my health. I’m not sure whether I should take weight-loss pills. There are news about a Canadian actress which suffered liver failure because of taking those pills.
What do you think I should do?
Best wishes
Guo XiLin

The summer job is very much popular among some university students. Long before the end of a school year, students start their summer vacation job search. They send letters to businesses, going to job interviews, and ask our friends and relations for help. By June the students usually had found jobs and then they begin preparing enter the world of work.
Reasons for wanting a summer job differs from student to student. Some students work to pay their school expenses, some work to gain experience or just to fun. Salesmen or waiters are two of the most common job that students try to find.

Nothing catches my eye until I saw the beautiful scarf (围巾) through a window. I stepped into the shop and didn’t go to the scarf directly. Before asking about several other item, I pointed to the scarf. I tried my best get the price down to a level that I could afford it. Even though I paid much, it was complete a lovely scarf. I believed that my mother would like it very much.

When I first came to China, there were many things I do not understand. Now, I have a better understanding of Chinese culture and find it very interested.
Bargaining is a Chinese custom what amazes me. In the USA, prices are set and you cannot ask for a lower price, when in China, you are expected to bargain with the salespersons in some small stores and tourist spots. I once asked my Chinese friends to teach me how to bargain. They were told me that I should ask for 40 percent or 50 percent off the price. Then, they had better tell the salesperson that the same item is cheaper at another store. If the salesperson does not agree to my price, I should pretend leave and he might ask me to come back and sell me the item for a lower price. But this skill doesn’t work effective every time. In my opinion, bargaining are a skill that I have to practise if I continue to live in China.
This is a unforgettable experience for me, which is beneficial to me.

With the development of the Internet, there appears a new way of shopping — online group buying, which has become more and more popular among shoppers.
As far as I am concerned, group buying has lots of advantage. It not only benefits businessmen and customers as well. Through group buying, we can buy whatever we want without going out and at a more lower price.
I myself often enjoy the benefit of group buying. Last week, I surf a well-known group buying website for two film tickets. With only 30 yuan, just one third of the original price, I got the tickets and two bottles of green tea, that saved me much money. It was really a pleased experience.
However, group buying may cause problems if doing blindly. To avoid cheated I suggest buyers' shop on famous and reliable websites. Also, we'd better read some comments from the other customers on line. More important, in order not to waste money, we should not buy any stuff that we don't need however cheap it is.
