1. Survey your textbook before you read.

Take a couple of minutes to find the word-list, index, questions and other important information. Then, when you sit down to study, you’ll know where to find the answers you are looking for.     2    .These questions let you know what you can probably expect in any upcoming tests.

As you read, summarize each section of the chapter on a post-it note. After you have read the entire chapter, go back and review the notes. It is an easy and efficient way to review information. And you can easily find the information you need.

3. Make your own practice test.

After you finish reading, pretend you are a professor writing a test for the chapter. Review the material you just read and make up your own practice test. Include all vocabulary words, study questions, and highlighted words you can find, as well as any other important information.     4       If not, go back and study some more.

4. Create visual flashcards.

Flashcards will help you remember important terms, people, places and dates. On the front of the card, write down the term or the question. This will help ensure that you grasp the study material.    5     Review these cards and quiz yourself before the actual test.

This :book follows a fictional Hollywood celebrity as she retells the story of her extraordinary personal/life and supposedly wonderful career to reporter Monique Grant. From start to finish, this book took me less than two days to read—it had me hooked with all its unexpected twists and turns(一波三折)!

“The Stationery Shop”by Marjan Kamali

This beautifully complicated novel follows the life of a girl named Roys—from her passionate life withBahman in Tehran, her college life in Oakland and all the twists and turns of her marriage with Walter. Overall, the book has taught me so much about grief, belonging and compassion in ways no other book has before.

“Where the Crawdads Sing”by Delia Owens

I only read this book because the movie was coming out, but it was one of my favorite reads of the year .The novel is about a girl named Kya who. was abandoned at an early age in a marsh(湿地). Raising herself alone, we see her struggle with normality, living alone and being suspected of murder.

“Book Lovers”by Emily Henry

Henry tells the story of beautiful literary agent Nora, who goes on vacation with her sister to the small town of Sunshine Falls. There, she meets one of the people she knows from the city, a book editor with whom she has a special past. They’re thrown together again and again in a series of coincidental meetings, and you are left with a thoroughly entertaining and heartwarming read.

【推荐3】Safer Internet Activities

To help schools promote safer Internet messages to families, beyond Safer Internet Day, the Education Safeguarding Service’s Online Safety Team has worked with Kent Children’s University to produce a Safer Internet Day Challenge pack for children aged 5 to 14.

This pack contains 10 key challenge activity ideas, as well as useful resources for children, schools and families to access. The Challenge will run until 31 June so there is plenty of time to get involved.

The Safer Internet Day Challenge starts with schools and families today and you can find the resources here. So why not send the activities home to your parents or caregivers so families can get involved?

Young people who are part of Kent Children’s University can earn a varying number of Learning Credits for each activity completed outside normal school time.
