Like many young children, Vikas Jyani dreamed of     1    (be) a pilot as a boy. Living in a small village called Sarangpur in Hisar district, he did not let go of that dream and after years of struggle,     2    (succeed) in becoming a pilot.

It was what he did after achieving his dream     3    would make headlines in the news.

With his growing up, the elders in the village always encouraged him     4    (go) for his dreams.     5    turn, he promised that when he did become a pilot, he would take all of them together for a ride in a plane. Born on June 12, 1929, Anne Frank was a German-Jewish teenager    1    was forced to go into hiding during the Holocaust (大屠杀). It was May 23, 2016. Arnot, the 32­year­old mountain guide, reached the top of Everest without the use of oxygen equipment. It was achieved after seven years, three previous     1     (attempt), and fourteen straight hours of climbing.

Arnot didn't start climbing     2     she was 19 years old. Money was tight in her family, and climbing mountains never     3    (occur) to her. After graduating from college, Arnot     4    (invite) by her friend to climb a mountain. “It totally changed my life,” said Arnot. “I always know that if you want something, you can achieve it, but knowing what you want is a whole different thing,” she said. “I am athletic but not     5    (compete). After that first climb, she devoted     7    (she) to learning how to climb and move through mountains. It was during her second trip to Everest in 2009       8     she first set her sights on a no­oxygen attempt. However, while     9     (hike) into Everest Base Camp that year, she hurt her leg and wasn't able to climb without oxygen.
