• We know how to teach your child maths.
Our specially trained maths teachers will teach your child how to understand maths in a special setting—our unique approach enables us to effectively explain maths concepts well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our teachers create a caring, encouraging environment that helps your child "catch up, keep up and get ahead" in their maths learning.
• We find exactly your child' s learning needs, meet them where they are and take them where they need to go.
At Mathnasium we use our unique assessment process to determine exactly what each child knows and what they need to learn. Next, we design an individual learning plan for each student. It doesn’t stop there—our teachers continually check progress along the way to make sure students truly understand the concepts we've taught. Students learn maths at their own speed and according to their own level. They will see obvious changes in attitude, confidence and school progress.

【推荐1】William had worked hard to pass the exams to enter high school. When the term began, however, his father told him that there was no money to pay for his school fees because of the summer drought. Still, William wanted to learn.
He made the village library his school. One day, he found a book called Using Energy. On the book’s cover was a picture of windmills, tall steel towers with blades (叶片) spinning like giant fans. He learned that wind—something of which his hometown had plenty—could produce electricity.
He couldn’t help picturing his own windmill in mind, but collecting the parts and tools he needed would take months. In a junkyard, he dug through piles of used metal, old cars, and worn-out tractors, searching for anything that might help him construct his machine. He made four-foot-long blades from plastic pipe, which he melted over a fire, flattened out, and hardened with bamboo poles.
Earning some money, he paid a blacksmith to attach the piston (活塞) to the pedal sprocket (踏板链轮) of an old bicycle frame. This would be the axle (轮轴) of the windmill. When the wind blew, the spinning blades would turn the bicycle wheel and spin a small dynamo (发电机), donated by his friend.
When he had collected all the parts, William began putting them together. He fixed the blades to the tractor fan he found, using washers (垫圈) he’d made from bottle caps. Next he pushed the fan onto the piston joint to the bicycle frame. With the help of his two best friends, William built a 16-foot-tall tower from trunks of trees and lifted the ninety-pound windmill to the top.
The big moments eventually came. He climbed up the tower and connected two wires that held a small bulb. As the wind whipped around him, the blades began to turn, slowly at first, then faster and faster. The light bulb flickered (闪烁), then flashed to life. The crowd cheered from below. “Wachitabwina (well done)!”
William’s machine now powered his house. And the story of the boy who’d built a power-generating windmill to rescue his family from the drought spread across the Internet.

It is impossible for everyone to have access to additional formal education. Fortunately, many educational resources have made it easier for people to develop a habit of lifelong learning. For example, books, online courses and so on available.
Open-mindedness and curiosity are beneficial to your career. People who enjoy learning are more active at work than those who don’t. Now think of the most admirable workmates you know. Do they tend to be knowledgeable about almost any topic of interest? Do they make impressive speeches on the topics they know best?
Our ability to learn is a keystone of human motivation. Have you ever sat in a quiet place and finished a great novel? Do you remember the feeling of achievement when you solve a challenging task? Education may not always have influence on wealth, health or career.
There are many reasons why we should continue learning. Lifelong learning isn’t just an economic necessity but a physical, emotional, and social one.
A.We live in an age full of opportunities for learning. |
B.Educational level determines your competitiveness. |
C.Your work performance depends on your educational input. |
D.Do they seem open-minded and intellectually energetic? |
E.Catch them and you will be successful. |
F.The following points are reasons why you should stick to lifelong learning. |

Researchers did a study to test their idea that teaching improves the teacher's learning because it forces the teacher to find back what they’ve learned. They asked 124 students to spend ten minutes studying a text with numbers on a topic which is completely new to them. They told the students they could take notes while studying, but would teach the material afterwards without notes. After studying the text, the students were divided into four groups. In one group the students spent five minutes giving a lesson on the study material without notes. The other groups either spent the same time completing arithmetic (算术) problems, teaching with a script (讲稿) or writing down all they could remember from the text — a form of recalling practice. A week later, all the students took a surprise test of their knowledge and understanding of the text.
The important finding is that the teaching-without-notes group and the recalling-practice group performed better than the group that completed arithmetic problems and the group that taught with a script.
The researchers said the result shows that the benefits of the learning-by-teaching method are caused by recalling practice; that is, the learning by-teaching method works only when the teaching includes recalling the taught materials.
The new findings have a practical suggestion for how the learning-by-teaching method is used in education. In order to make sure that students learn and remember an educational material, they should internalize (内化) the material before presenting it to others, rather than depend on notes during the presentation process.

Thankfully, there are loads of parks and grand green spaces in London for us to escape to for a lunchtime picnic break, an after-work snack or a weekend-long feast in the fresh air.
Kew Gardens
Some of the coolest picnic spots in the city are within the flowery borders of famous Kew Gardens. You have to pay to have a look around but it’s totally worth it—especially to have a walk inside the newly reopened Temperate House, which is stuffed full of impressive and rare plants. Once you’ve spent on entry (£ 16.50), bringing a picnic will definitely save you some pennies.
Primrose Hill
It’s easy to see why Primrose Hill is so popular during long and sleepy summer afternoons, thanks to those incredible views across the city. But it’s not just the skyline that makes this a popular dining destination. The peak of Primrose Hill is also a short walk from Abbey Road and London Zoo.
Holland Park
Holland Park is often overshadowed by its royal neighbour Kensington Palace Gardens, but it’s an undeniably picturesque picnic spot. There’s a lot to see, from woodland and wildlife to sculpture and the Japanese-style Kyoto Garden, plus there are tennis courts, football pitches and spots to play golf, cricket and netball.
Green Park
Enjoying a picnic in Green Park is guaranteed to be a lively affair. Visitors and locals alike flock here thanks to the park’s rather famous neighbour. The Queen’s gaff aside, Green Park has its own rather attractive scenery, with statues, water fountains and, in spring, daffodils as far as the eye can see.

【推荐2】Peter Rabbit 2
Critics weren’t too keen on 2018’s Peter Rabbit, a mixture of live-action and animation. But audiences were more enthusiastic about its sequel(续集), featuring Rose and Domhnall as a couple, and James as the rabbit who has agreed to stop stealing their vegetables. And this time, even the critics are happy with it.
Fast & Furious 9
Vin Diesel is back as Dominic in the new Fast & Furious version. The first film was a low-budget thriller about illegal street racers, but the sequels have grown sillier every time. Fast & Furious 9 is a global cyber-spy boasting appearances by Charlize, Helen, Kurt and a car that flies into space. Fast & Furious 9 makes the cars go fast, jump high, and generally do the impossible.
Dream Horse
Jan Vokes runs a shop in a small town in Wales. When she overhears how profitable horse-racing can be, she has the sort of idea that British comedy dramas are made of. She will form a company with her friends, and together they will use little cash to breed and train a racehorse of their own. Dream Horse is a warm and engaging tale that will appeal to anyone who has struggled to hold on to a dream.
Summer of 85
Francois, an active French writer-director, gets back to his roots—and, perhaps, his own adolescence—with an adaptation of Aidan Chambers’ novel, Dance On My Grave. Its stars are 16-year-old Alexis and an 18-year-old, David, who saves him from drowning in the summer of 1985. A Hollywood reporter praises it as “a story that’s a little painful to watch but also sincere and truthful about adolescence”.
