Children’s Art Exhibition 2022: Looking for Light
Exhibition time: March 25~ April 23, 2022
Theme-light in art:
.Artists play with light, both as a subject and as a tool.
.Light changes colors, creates shadow and is used to create space in pictures.
.Light can be used within a work of art. Special effects can be produced by the change between light and dark.
.In addition to making things visible, light can be used to inspire emotions.
.This exhibit shows how light is used to create effects within art.
People who can take part:
Kindergarten through eighth grade students may enter for this exhibition.
Requirements:
.Art pieces must be created between August 2021 and February 2022.
.The work must be no larger than 12cm×18cm.
.Only one work per person is accepted, including co-working artworks.
.Works are accepted from February 22 to March 11, 2022.

.Complete a form to make sure you have included a statement about how light is used in your piece. Attach it to the back of your artwork.
.Deliver your artwork to the Museum at 302 Second Avenue East, Kalispell, MT.

Art Bite tours are 30 minutes long and are part of the Happy Hour Thursday festivities at the Museum. This guided tour is included with general admission, which is free on Thursdays.
Glassell Studio School
Courses in art are offered the fall, spring, and summer
The Glassell Studio School offers courses in art history and studio arts for adults ages 18 and older of all skill and experience levels. Studio courses and workshops are available(可得到的) in various forms of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, digital and film photography, 3D design, and more. Courses are offered in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Sign up for the next semester below.

July 28-30The coolest thing to do in Summer! A river hike is a combination of normal hiking and hiking along the course of rivers. It often involves walking in the water and on rocks, low-level rock climbing, crossing rivers, and swimming.
River hikes are fun but require average to high fitness level, good balance and swimming skills, Climbing skills are not necessary. They are not recommended for people afraid of heights or water, nor for children under the age of 15.

23:30 Arrive at the Guesthouse. Let's quickly get the room and go for some quality sleep to recharge for the hike tomorrow.
Day 2 Saturday07:00 Get up and have breakfast.
07:30 Pack all your belongings; we'll be on the bus for about 2 hours before reaching our drop-off point.
09:30 We will walk on the road for about 30 mins to reach the starting point. Then we have 15 mins to put our swimming suits on and wear some sun creams before getting ready for the hiking!
For the rest of the day, we will mainly be hiking on the rocks, stopping on the way for your self-prepared lunch when you want.
16:30 Finish the hike and get on the bus waiting for us. We're going to spend the night in the Guesthouse village.18:30 Let's have dinner and enjoy the night!
Day 3 Sunday
9:00 Get up and have breakfast. After yesterday's exciting hike, today is mainly relaxing!
10:00 We reach a nice river spot for swimming and jump from rocks before going back to the village where we will have lunch. Or you can just stay in the village, walk around and relax.
13:00 After group lunch we will take our private bus and head back to Los Angeles.
19:30/20:00 Estimated arrival time in Los Angeles.

Southampton Trails
Many guided trails are run in Hamptons, some suitable for kids. Behind the South Fork Natural History Museum is a small field with butterflies and birds flying about. Upon arrival, check out the posted map that shows the trails through the fields with a connection that goes all the way to Sag Harbor.
Arboretum State Historic Park, Oyster Bay
Half the park is woodland that includes nature walks and a greenhouse. You'll see lots of wildlife from foxes to birds, a delight for kids. Pick up a map on the website and enjoy the historic Gold Coast property. Walkers can select from different paths, covering about six miles in total, as well as all different lengths to accommodate different ages and abilities.
Richard D. Fowler Preserve, Southampton
A pleasant short hike right in Southampton Village. The trail begins near the intersection of Wickapogue Road and Narrow Lane and heads through a wooded area with a river. Dress properly, for it could be a little muddy. The trail features hedges (树篱) along one side and plantings along the other. It reaches the site where the first settlers spent their first winter about 1640. This trail takes about one hour.
Downs Farm Preserve, Cutchogue
This family-friendly place is an easy walk with the trail a mile long. It's a very peaceful location to see wildlife and birds. The trail is flat and pushchair-friendly. You'll also find Downs River, with chairs along the way to rest. Home to the defence works of the Corchaug Indians, the preserve is on the National Park Register of Historic Places and is considered ancient land.
