【推荐2】West Side Music Together
About
WSMT is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age 5 and the grownups who look after them. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based and developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.
When you participate, you will receive our current songbook and CD, and you can download your music through our award-winning Hello Everybody app using your Music Together account. You’ll also have access to our WSMT Family Portal, where we will share musical inspiration, play-at-home videos and activities to try at home.
Connection to the Community
Our classes become communities themselves and families can often be seen at parks and local cafes together after class. Families really get time to know each other over the course of our ten-week programs and we also offer free community events each year to registered families.
Additional Information
Our mission is to provide the highest quality music and movement experiences to as many young children as possible and to involve their parents and other adult caregivers as their primary guides. All classes include one of our nine award-winning music collections and our free Hello Everybody app.
Our mixed-age family classes follow the recommendations of child development researchers — grouping children of a variety of ages — because this fosters (促进) natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating (模仿) older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Their caregivers also go together.

【推荐3】Claw machines (娃娃机) are very common in shopping centers or movie theaters. You might get your favorite toy after paying some coins. It seems to be a low-cost and the game rules are easy to understand for most people. So many children, young people and even some old people like to play on the claw machines, again and again.
However, simple rules and easy-to-use machines do not mean everyone can easily win a prize. You may watch your toy being caught but suddenly dropping at the last second. There are some reasons why people like claw machines, even though they may face many difficulties.
The purpose of playing on claw machines is to deal with stress for quite a few Buddhist (佛系的) players. While grabbing the stuffed (毛绒的) animal, they pay so much attention to this game that they forget their troubles from daily life. No matter what the result is, they enjoy the process.
Some people say they enjoy the sense of achievement when they catch a prize from a claw machine. They take pride in managing to do what most people cannot. People around the machine also express their congratulations and admiration for winners.
Stuffed animals or goodies from a claw machine, which have far more meaning than what you can buy in a nearby store, can be a good gift for the ones you love. It is a great way to show effort and thoughtfulness since winning a prize from a claw machine requires time and money, as well as skills.
Playing at the claw machine is a fun memory for many. Do you enjoy playing claw machines? Have you ever actually won something out of one?

·Mission:
Micah’s House equips young men who have aged out of foster care (寄养) or who are experiencing homelessness to find hope, identity and a place to belong.
·Services provided:
When a young man comes to live with us, he is provided with a private bedroom and everything from furniture, sheets and towels to food and clothes. We have weekly Thrive Nights where our guys are taught life skills. We invite members of the community to teach everything from sewing on a button to an overview of insurance to pet care and what it really involves to own a dog.
·Who is qualified?
Any young man, 18-25, who is experiencing homelessness.
·Where can you register?
Young men can fill out an application at http://www.micahshousenwa.org/program-application.

Our volunteers keep Micah’s House running! Volunteer opportunities range from providing a one-time meal to walking with a young man as a mentor (导师). Right now we need mentor families to come alongside our men and help create a community that these guys can turn to.
·What other ways may people help?
We always have one-time projects like hanging outdoor lights. Our most up-to-date volunteer opportunities can be found at MicahsHouseNWA.org/get-involved
·Why do you work for a nonprofit organization? Do you have a personal connection to the mission?
I want to help create a community that I am proud to live in. These young men will become husbands, fathers, skilled tradesmen, businessmen and community members.
