Riding the European rails is one of the best ways to get around and see the continent on a budget.

It’s a place that exudes culture, sophistication, class, and style. The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the history; it’s hard not to see the magic. It would take years to see everything here, but you can get a good feel of the city in a few days.

Hit the Alps

Whether you go skiing in winter or hiking in summer, the Alps hold some of the most breathtaking views in the world. For a popular multi-day hike, check out the Tour du Mont Blanc, an epic 7—11 day hike through France, Italy, and Switzerland. For winter visits, expect to pay at least 75 EUR per day for a lift pass to ski/snowboard.

Fasten the safety belt, hold tight and head out on a scenic wilderness off-road adventure on one of New Zealand’s back-country roads and tracks. Are you electric with enthusiasm? Or why not try your luck on the enormous sand hills of the popular Ninety Mile Beach in Northland?

Caving

Featuring some of the most challenging and spectacular caving systems in the world, New Zealand is top of the list for cavers. Walk or float (black-water rafting as it is referred to)through the spectacular Waitomo Caves or enjoy guided underground adventures in Nelson.

A completed project should include:

·A photo or drawing of the interesting thing you observed outdoors.
