【推荐1】Dear students and employees(员工) of RWTH,

Based on recent decisions by the state government on Covid-19 lockdown( 封 城 ), the Management Committee of RWTH have decided on the following measures:

Studying and teaching:

All in-person classroom teaching activities (especially lab courses, written examinations, and exam revision) will be stopped in the period from December 16, 2020 to January 10, 2021. If possible and reasonable, teachers can offer online teaching during this time instead. We would also advise strongly the exam committee to find ways that help students with their degree programs.

All network teaching and exams that have already been planned will continue during this time.

Service operations:

In the period from December 16, 2020 to January 10, 2021, all employees who can work from home must do so, even if this causes quality losses.

For the period from December 21, 2020 to January 8, 2021, we have made further offers for service operations and vacation arrangements.

If employees have questions about the organization of working hours and childcare, the human resources departments will be happy to help. The state government has also said it will provide help for this group of employees.

The Management Committee of RWTH has taken the above measures based on the following rules: All measures are designed to reduce the possibilities of infection( 感 染 ) even more (for example, by reducing the need to take transportation).

The Management Committee calls on all students, employees, and managers to fully obey the measures that have been made.

文章大意:本文为一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了作者用相机记录自己学校生活中的每一个精彩时刻的故事。

【推荐2】Capturing a moment in time isn’t just about securing a memory- it can help us appreciate our life more every day.

As a student,my campus has been my whole world. While it may seem limiting, studying with the same classmates and the same teachers in the same classroom every day has given me many opportunities to make great memories. I love the jokes told by my teachers in class, the songs my roommates and I sing together and cheerleaders’ loud cries at basketball games. Even the glow of the sunset with the mixture of purple and vivid red over the playground is mesmerizing.

And that is why I began to record my school life, and I’ve kept this habit for three years up until now. The first attempt, in the form of a diary, fell through as soon as my actual experiences became far more exciting than my words. So I bought a camera, with which I recorded every fascinating moment in my school life. Every weekend I transferred those photos to my phone and posted them on my social media. Without fail, I would find how joyful my school life was and how much progress I made, which in turn instilled(注入) more passion and purpose into the coming weeks.

As I progressed to senior high school, that camera gave way to camcorder(便携式摄像机) More and more videos drove me to learn video editing. Those valuable videos witnessed me joining the school choir(合唱团), training for sports meets, complaining about the burden of studying and having fun in the dormitory. They have become a labor of love and naturally my source of happiness.

When I look back on my diaries, photos and videos during this winter vacation, those fond memories came flooding back. Recording my school life lets me not only capture every precious moment in the course of my growth but also gives me the ability to observe and appreciate my surroundings and create joy in my life. It creates positive impact on my friends, showing them how wonderful life is and how it all depends on how much enthusiasm you show. So imagine how amazed I was when people said they felt youth and vitality through my work!

【推荐3】Living in a dorm (宿舍) this year? Here are some survival suggestions:

Don’t just shout. Talk it out.

Even if you knew your roommate before, living with him or her will be completely different. The key to making it work is communication.    1    If you still have problems after talking, turn to your teacher for help—especially if you think you need to change rooms or roommates.

Your dorm isn’t just the place where you sleep or study. It’s your home.    2     Show your personality. Put up the posters your mum never let you put up at home. Do whatever you can to make your room a comfortable place so you feel right at home.

A clean room is a happy room.

Cleanliness is important. Whether you share a space with one person or seven, you should have a cleaning plan.    3     Draw up a plan that can be stuck to by everyone so that your room is always clean.

    4

One of the great things about living in a dorm is that you’ll probably meet people from other places who were raised differently. Don’t laugh at people because of their differences.    5    You never know that guy or girl in your dorm might turn out to be one of your lifelong friends!
