With the new semester about to start, our school is welcoming a group of new international students. We have some apps here that will make your life easier. We hope you will have a wonderful life here.
WeChat is now the most popular social media app in China. Almost everyone is using WeChat. You can send both text and voice messages on WeChat. You can also make voice and video calls. You can also post texts, pictures and video clips. If your friends in your home country have this app, you can also chat with them through voice or video. WeChat is also widely used now as a form of payment which can be used in stores, online, and in other shopping apps.

Alipay is a similar app to PayPal. It was first used on Taobao and now people can still use it as a mobile payment option. You can even use mobile payment at street vendors, so if you have this app, you can leave your wallet at home.

Most people, when they travel to space, would like to stay in orbit for a few days or more. And this stands to reason, if you’re paying $20,000 for your trip to orbit. So in order for tourism to reach its full potential there’s going to be a need for orbital accommodation - or space hotels.
The hotels themselves will vary greatly - from being quite simple in the early days to huge luxury structure at a later date. It’s actually surprising that as late as 1997, very few designs for space hotels were published.
Lots of people who’ve been to space have described vividly what it’s like to live in zero gravity.
A.What would a space hotel actually be like? |

D.Of course all good things have come to an end, unfortunately. |
E.There are obviously all sorts of possibilities for dancing, gymnastics, and zero-G sports. |

That’s fairly unusual, but what makes the video even stranger is that the monkey is playing the video game with just its mind. Neuralink is a company owned by Elon Musk, who also owns the car company Tesla and the rocket company Space X. Neuralink is working to develop devices that could allow people to control things using just their brains.
The monkey in the video is called Pager. Pager has two of Neuralink’s special “Link” devices planted in his brain by a surgeon. These devices are connected to 2,048 wires which lead to the parts of Pager’s brain that control movements of the arms and hands.
Scientists taught Pager to play a video game. At first, Pager controlled the video game using a joystick, which is a normal gaming controller. But as Pager played, his Link devices wirelessly sent out information about the signals his brain was using to control his arms and hands. Neuralink’s scientists recorded all of these signals. Then they used computers to match up the signals from Pager’s brain to the movements that his hands were actually doing. This was challenging work and the scientists counted on artificial intelligence(AI) to help them decode(解码) Pager’s brain signals.
Neuralink wants to make it possible for humans who have lost the ability to control their bodies to interact with the world around them. Mr. Musk says that in the near future Neuralink hopes to allow a paralyzed(瘫痪的) person to control a smartphone just by thinking. One day, the system will be able to send this information in a different way, allowing paralyzed people to use their arms or legs again.

He first hit on the excellent idea two years ago for the purpose of reducing the spread of the cold and flu. After both of Max’s parents were infected with COVID-19 four months ago, however, he put in all his effort to develop a working prototype (模型).
Worn on both wrists, the intelligent device is expected to sell for £89. It uses position-sending technology algorithms (算法) to tell between predicted face touching and other hand motions. Then the device warns users of hand gestures that are dangerously near the face.
“We came up with the concept a few years ago when my family was repeatedly catching cold and flu viruses from traveling in and out of London and I could see how easy it was to pick up germs especially from using public transport,” said Max. “It was only when the World Health Organization (WHO) began suggesting people avoid touching their eyes, noses and faces to stop the spread of viruses from contaminated surfaces did I realize that it could play a part in slowing the spread of COVID-19.”
Max, who is from Bristol, launched a £60, 000 crowdfunding campaign (众筹活动) on Kickstarter earlier this week to further his project and turn the prototype into a public reality. “The main task of this project is not to make money, but to get it onto the wrists of those it can help keep safe. Any profits made from early sales through the crowdfunding site will be reinves-ted into providing free devices for organizations that help people such as National Health Serv-ice(NHS) staff and nursing homes.
