In social life, time plays a very important part. In the U. S. A., guests tend to feel that they are not highly regarded if the invitation to a dinner party     1    (send)only three or four days before the party date. But it is not true in all countries. World First Aid Day, which started in 2000, occurs on the second Saturday of September every year. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies introduced it to raise global     1     (aware) of how first aid can save people's lives in everyday situations. So it is recommended     2     first aid education become a part of taking a driving test.

Rising sea levels could see the end     1     half of the world' s beaches by 2100. Climate scientists predict that 50 per cent of sandy beaches along the world's coastlines could disappear over the next eight    2     (decade) if climate change continues on its current path. The scientists,     3    are from the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, warned that the shorelines of many highly-populated areas and tourist hotspots are threatened by erosion (侵蚀)     4     (link) to climate change. Last Tuesday, a Roots & Shoots project was set up in my community. As I walked down No.1 Street, I saw volunteers    1    (encourage) people to join in. While recently many people have become more concerned about environmental protection, there are still some who haven’t,    5    (think) that someone else will deal with the problem.
