Chinese scientists have created the world’s first light-based quantum(量子) computer, called Jiuzhang, which can     1    (reliable) show “quantum computational advantage”. It can solve a problem much more quickly than any classical supercomputer, according to a study    2    (publish) in the journal Science on Friday.

It is the second time that humanity    3    (reach) this milestone(里程碑). However, Jiuzhang used a new method oi using 76 photons(光子) to do calculations instead of Google’s, which uses superconductive materials.

Experts described the Chinese machine is a “state-of-the-art experiment” and a “major    4    (achieve)” in quantum computing. It proves the possibility of photonic quantum computation, thus providing a fundamentally different approach    5    designing such powerful machines.

Quantum computers are excellent at running simulations(模拟) that are impossible for conventional computers,    6    (lead) to breakthroughs in materials science, artificial intelligence and medicine.

Moreover, most parts of the light-based quantum machine can operate at room temperature, aside from its sensory equipment, which must be kept at -269.1℃.
