As it is known to all, it is interesting to visit another country, but sometimes there are some problem when we don’t know the language very well. It may be difficult to talk about the people there. We may not know how to use the telephone in the country which are visiting. We may not know what to buy the things we need. In a strange country we may not know where to eat and what to order in a restaurant. It is not easy to decide how many money to tip waiters or taxi drivers. When we are helpless, we may not know how to ask help. After a short time later, however, we learn what to do and what to say. We learn to enjoy life in another country which we are used to living.

Be abroad, you may find many things are different—the food, the customs, and the language. The last of these are the most important, as you need to be able to communicate in order to make the most of your stay. So I advise you to find the good school, and the school good academic atmosphere will help you improve your language skill. I found things got a lot of better for me once I’d joined a local tennis club. I really enjoyed it, and I made plenty of friends here. I am not homesick any more but I began to find my way around. All to all, I’d say it’s essential to maintain a positive attitude, and you’ll certainly enjoy yourself.

Now I am writing to tell you something about Chinese table manner. Usually, sit around the table, all members of a family has meals together at meal time. The elders and distinguished guests are often seated in the special seats, what shows great respect for them. Chopsticks are used instead for knives and forks. It was often the case that the host family use their chopsticks to put food in your bowl. At the end of the meal don't leave any food in my bowl and you'd better to say thanks to the host.
I hope you'll have wonderful time in our country.

Dear Tom,
I’m more than happier that you’re interested in Chinese culture. Now let me tell you something about a Dragon Boat Festival.
It’s a traditional Chinese festival falling in the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s widely believed that the festival held in memory of the great poet Qu Yuan, who lived in ancient times. Disappointed with the government, he drowned him in the Miluo River.
The festival is celebrated by boat racing, with the boats building in the shape of dragons. Competing teams row their boats forward to the drumbeat, race to reach the finishing end first. We also have the custom of eating zongzi, wrapped with bamboo leaf. It’s very popularly among Chinese people.
If you will want to know about other Chinese traditional festivals, just write to me.
Yours,
Li Hua
