Carnival (狂欢节) is a joyous season in February and March in many countries. During this time, colourful street parties, festivals and parades took place over several weeks. Have you heard about Singles’ Day (Nov. 11^th) in China? Many people stay up lately that night, shop online to get big savings. Well, the US has something like it calling Black Friday. Black Friday is one of the bigger shopping days in the US. It always falls on a day after the Thanksgiving holiday. On this day, store will offer special deals just like on Singles’ Day in China. On Black Friday, shoppers will often wake up very early to wait in line at stores after they open. They might start wait in line as early as 2 or 3 am. On April 5, to celebrate the Qingming Festival, our class organize a trip to the Memorial of Crossing the-Yangtze-River Campaign, that lies on the north bank of the Chaohu Lake in Hefei. The main building of the Memorial looks like a huge warship. How impressively the sight is! At the first, we together presented flowers to honoring those great people. They fought for the free of our country. But then we toured around the Memorial. We viewed the pictures and valuable object of that time and listened the guide’s introduction. Only then did we truly began to realize the importance of peace.
