Do you want to check out The Steve Harvey Show? All you have to do is ask and wait.
As with many daytime talk shows, tickets to see the taping of The Steve Harvey Show are free. They’re given away in order to fill the audience with fans. The catch is that the show often gives away more tickets than seats since usually some people won’t show up on the taping dates.
There is good news and bad news. The good is that even if you don’t get tickets, you might be able to get standby tickets (候补票).The bad is that even if you do have tickets, you’re not guaranteed a seat. Be sure to show up early and your chances will improve.
Request your tickets to The Steve Harvey Show
The process for requesting tickets could not be easier. You’ll simply give the show your information and the date you’d like to attend.
You may need to check back in frequently to see when they’re taping. If anything is scheduled, it’s often only for one or two weeks at a time.
1.Visit The Steve Harvey Show’s official website.
2.You’ll find a calendar with highlighted (突出标记的) dates. Those are available taping dates. Select one that works best for you.
3.Fill out the online form that pops up. It’s pretty straightforward—name, email, phone number, address, requested date, etc.
4.Make sure everyone attending is 18 years old or older.

So what is rewilding?
Imagine our natural homes growing instead of getting smaller. Imagine a variety of species instead of less species. That is rewilding. Rewilding is environmental restoration. Rewilding offers hope for wildlife, humans and the planet.
Why is rewilding important and necessary?
● Our natural ecology is broken. The places where you would expect wildlife to exist have been reduced to wet deserts. The seabed has been destroyed and there have been no living creatures any more.
● Our wildlife is disappearing. Many wonderful species have declined over the past century. We’ve lost more of our large animals than any European country.
● We need keystone species. These vital species, including top predators (食肉动物), drive ecological processes. Their loss has worsened our living systems.
● Nature looks after us. Good natural ecology can provide us with clean air and water, prevent flooding and store carbon. Rewilding can leave the world in a better state than it is today.
What are challenges?
As a long-term project, our “rewilding britain” has its challenges. Many people are not interested, because we have got used to the lack of/fewer native forests. Many farmers oppose/disagree with the idea. They thought it a crazy idea to bring back predators because they would start killing farm animals. It takes time to educate them. Above all, we need money! So we need your help!
Make a donation/contribution.
Help us bring back living systems and restore wild nature!
With your help we can...
● Open up new chances for rewilding and push for change.
● Develop tools to educate, influence and spread the word.
Thanks for your support.

【推荐3】Sandra Boynton, a children’s author, has in more recent years branched out into kids music. Her most recent album Hog Wild!, for example, features Samuel L. Jackson as a Tyrannosaurus Rex. She talked in an interview about how to tap into kids’ imaginations and how to make scary things less threatening for them.
In your years of writing and illustrating children’s books, have you noticed anything that really sparks a child’s imagination?
I think maybe there’s no basic difference between what fascinates a child and what fascinates the rest of us. We’re all drawn to things that wake us up, things that grab our attention through our hearing or our sight or our sense of touch. We’re curious about the world as it is, and we’re curious about what could be. Imagination follows curiosity pretty naturally.
It doesn’t feel to me like it’s been a long time that I’ve been drawing and writing things. It doesn’t feel like a short time, either. It just feels like what I do. I make things. I’m a permanent kindergartner, I guess.
You often take a threatening figure like a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a monster and make him cute. Do you have any suggestions for how to make children less afraid of things? Actually, I think kids kind of like being afraid of things, as long as someone calm is right there with reassurance. Hugging helps.
What have you learned about childhood from writing kids’ books?
Accessing childhood has actually never been that hard. It’s adulthood that’s still perplexing. I would guess that most children’s book writers are that way. I’m really writing books and making music for my own child-self. But I’m certainly delighted and grateful that my books work for people other than just me. It keeps me from having to find an actual job.
A lot of authors are worried that children spend too much time on digital devices rather than with books, but you seem to have embraced it. Why?
When the interactive book app universe was new, I was, as a creator of things, curious. My background is theater, and I thought it could be interesting to try to figure out how to create content that’s both theater-like and book-like. I found a superb partner in this, the insanely ingenious Loud Crow Interactive in Vancouver. We worked intensively together for a couple of years and made five very cool apps. I’m proud of them. But now, having too often seen very young kids sitting idly, staring at screens, I have my doubts.
1. When writing children’s books, Sandra ________.A.finds herself confused about remembering childhood |

As more and more people stay inside to stay safe, the outside world seems to have become much quieter. In fact, scientists have seen this change in their research, too.
Seismologists—scientists who study earthquakes—have heard a lot less seismic (地震的) noise recently. Seismic noise is made from vibrations (震动) in the ground that are caused by things like ocean waves and human activity, such as construction work and traffic.
Thomas Lecocq, a scientist at the Royal Observatory of Belgium, located in Brussels, was the first to notice this phenomenon. According to Lecocq, the amount of seismic noise in Brussels has been reduced by about 30 to 50 percent since mid-March. Interestingly enough, this is around the same time Belgium started its containment measures.
Because of this reduction in background noise, scientists like Lecocq have been able to pick up on smaller earthquakes that some seismic stations—like the one in Brussels—wouldn’t have been able to before.
This phenomenon isn’t unique to Brussels, though. Once Lecocq shared his findings online, seismologists from all over the world echoed similar findings. Celeste Labedz, a graduate student at the California Institute of Technology, mentioned in a tweet that Los Angeles also experienced less background noise. “The drop is seriously wild,” she wrote. Researchers from the UK, France and New Zealand also noted a decrease in background noise since containment measures were put in place.
These global efforts to contain the COVID-19 virus have helped to shed light on seismic activity that may have gone unnoticed. It also shows that people are listening to health officials and following lockdown guidelines.
1. What did seismologists find out recently?A.More smaller earthquakes are likely to happen. |
B.Less seismic activity has been detected recently. |
C.Reduced seismic vibration makes Earth quieter. |
D.Seismic noise is caused by vibrations underground. |
A.More seismic noise is being picked up. |
B.More data on smaller earthquakes is being collected. |
C.Scientists will shift their focus to smaller earthquakes. |
D.Future big earthquakes can be more accurately predicted. |
A.Questioned. | B.Demanded. |
C.Explored. | D.Repeated. |
A.The drop in seismic noise is unique to Europe. |
B.Seismic noise is mainly caused by human activity. |
C.Many seismologists wanted tighter restrictions for their research. |
D.The phenomenon proved that people are practicing social distancing. |

Suddenly a shining flash erupted straight from the ground about 15 feet in front of me, and shot up into the sky. It was so brilliant, clear and clean. I thought the only thing that could make such a flash must be a diamond—maybe someone had lost some kind of jewelry. Or some kind of lightning strikes—so bright. I waited to see if it repeated but it didn’t.
I walked slowly towards it. There was nothing to see. I stared down at the grass, searching for gold or some kind of metal. Nothing. So I dropped down really close and there it was! A tiny spider’s web, delicately hanging between grass, flashing in a number of colors. The rising sun had caught the exact angle of the dewdrops (露珠), and that light had exploded up into the sky.
It was unbelievable, such a powerful flash from something so small and fragile, and I would have destroyed it beneath my feet. It was as if the unseen world was giving me a heads-up. Hello! Look what’s around you. I’ve never forgotten that moment.
So take some time to notice the wonder of nature that most of us never even see. So much beauty all around us if we would only take the time. Look at the tiny flowers that cover playing fields—we walk all over them without a second glance. The colors of practically any flower on the earth are breathtaking and all natural—if we would only notice. Take the time and discover from nature one secret beautiful thing that you can keep in your heart. Take a picture. It’s what life really consists of. And it’s free.
1. What actually caused the flash?A.A diamond. | B.The lightning. |
C.A piece of metal. | D.A spider’s web. |
A.The flash is very splendid. | B.The spider’s web is mysterious. |
C.The shining object was priceless. | D.Something small touches her soul. |

【推荐1】Developing healthy eating habits starts from childhood, therefore it is important for parents to teach and provide children with a healthy diet. DPHSS administrator of the Bureau of Nutrition Services, Charlie Morris told KUAM News, “A healthy diet for a child consists of a lot of fruits and vegetables in the diet limiting the amount of simple sugars in the diet and high fat food and highly processed(加工的) food.”
This means staying away as much as possible from food such as chips, cookies, candies and sugary drinks, as all children need to have meals which involve a well-balanced diet. Community nutritionist(营养学家) Thelma Romoso said, “The fruit, the vegetable, the grain, the protein, and also the milk, the diary product, so for the fruits it's easy for a mother to go into the two plus three concept of fruits and vegetables or five a day.”
This concept means that there are at least two servings of fruits a day, three servings of vegetables a day which can be served for lunch and dinner. As for protein parents can make a variety of dishes from chicken, beef, fish or even dried beans to make sure the child gets three servings a day.
Morris said that the child's hunger level controls how much is eaten and the parent controls what and when the meal is offered, saying, “Mom needs to ensure that the food offered is good food for the child to eat and throughout the day depending on how active they are, snacks(零食) are not a bad thing, so the mom should offer good kinds of snacks.”
When it comes to preparing your child's lunch and snacks for school, make sure to keep in mind that the food you provide should not only be a source of energy but also be nutritionally beneficial such as fresh fruits, and whole grain bread. But parents must be sure to remember that a good nutritional diet must be balanced with physical activity, namely it is important that children get outside and run around and play and get activity in addition to eating a good diet.

【推荐3】To stay healthy and fit, Chinese students do group exercises every day at school. Most of you probably do the same set of exercises. But some school exercises have grown popular online due to their local and innovative designs.
Singing in Sichuan dialects with energetic movements and unique mask-changing is not just a Sichuan Opera performance. It’s the routine exercise for students of Mianyang Foreign Languages Experimental School in Sichuan province.
“Sichuan Opera is a local opera, and it is now facing a gap in inheritance (传承). Therefore, we cooperated with Mianyang Intangible Cultural Heritage Center to create a simple and easy-to-learn Sichuan Opera exercise,” said Shen Junhua, who is in charge of organizing the school’s exercise between classes.
According to Shen, this new type of exercise has been practiced since 2017 and has been popular among students. When students enroll (入学), they will spend several weeks practicing it. At present, almost all of the students and teachers have mastered it.
“In fact, we had hardly heard of Sichuan Opera before teachers taught us how to do the Sichuan Opera exercise,” said Li Yangwenwen, 14, an eighth grade student who also joined the school’s Sichuan Opera club out of interest. “It’s very different from normal exercises. After practicing it, we found it very beautiful and became interested in it. Now, almost all of the students look forward to our daily exercise time and feel excited to do it.”
“By combining opera with daily exercise, the daily class activity allows students to perceive and understand Sichuan Opera’s culture”, Shen said. “After years of continuous effort to spread the seeds of traditional culture, the younger generation is finally catching on.”
