On a clear February morning, a California black bear was set free. Looking around, he     1     (skillful) climbed the nearest tree. From high above the ground, he could see the hundreds of acres     2     were now his home. His eyes were filled with     3    (curious)

The bear had come a long way. Last fall, the seven-month-old bear bub(幼兽) was found all alone. He had no mother to care for him. When I was in college, a white cat often showed up on our campus. It was clear     1     he was a stray (流浪的) cat because he looked thin and weak. Students would play with him after class and feed him all kinds of food. The school didn’t say anything about the cat for     2     long time.

It might seem like a small effort to some people.     10     this man risked his job - his only source of income - just to feed a tiny cat who no one else cared for. It was a very heartwarming thing to see.

In the past eight years, China has achieved its goal of poverty reduction     1    planned and nearly 100 million people have been lifted out of poverty, according to Xi Jinping general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
