The Laterooms. com Price Promise
The Laterooms. com Price Promise is our little way of giving you the peace of mind that you're always getting a great hotel deal on Laterooms. com. If you do spot the same hotel room cheaper elsewhere online, we'll do the decent (适当的) thing and refund the difference.
How our Price Promise works:
We'll look into any Price Promise claim (索赔) as long as it's for a current booking with Laterooms. com and the situation is among the following:
*The lower rate found is available for booking the exact same room online (the same room type, the same hotel, the same check-in and check-out dates, and the same booking conditions, like breakfast and parking etc. ).
*The lower rate is in the same currency.
*The lower rate does NOT include membership rates, frequent stay or loyalty points or “reward" type programmes.
*You let us know about the claim within 24 hours of completing your Laterooms. com booking.
We can’t offer our Price Promise when:
*The lower rate is no longer bookable when we look into your claim (within 24 hours).
*You've cancelled your Laterooms. com booking.
*You make a late booking — less than 24 hours before the arrival date.
*You find a lower rate on a website that doesn't reveal the hotel until after you've booked.
How to make a claim:
Making a Price Promise claim is simple. If you've booked a stay within the last 24 hours that isn't for the same day or next day arrival, and you've read the full Terms and Conditions, then just fill in a claim form on our website and submit it.
Think you've found a lower rate?

AVOID BIG EVENTS
Big sporting events, concerts and exhibitions can increase the cost of accommodation and make it harder to find a room. A standard double room at the Thistle Brighton on the final Friday of the Brighton Comedy Festival (21 Oct.) cost £169.15 at Booking. com. A week later, the same room cost £118.15.
If you can be flexible and want to know dates to avoid—or you’re looking for a big event to pass your time—check out sites such as Whatsonwhen.com, which allow you to search for events in the UK by city, date and category.
STAY AWAY FROM THE STATION
It traveling to your destination by train, you may want to find a good base close to the station, but you could end up paying more for the convenience at the start of your holiday.
Don’t be too choosy(挑剔的) about the part of town you stay in. If you book two months in advance, the cheapest room at Travelodge’s Central Euston hotel in London for Saturday, 24 September was £95.95. A room just a tube journey away at its Covent Garden hotel was £75.75. And at Farringdon, a double room cost just f£62.95.
LOOK AFTER YOURSELF
Really central hotels in cities such as London, Edinburgh and Cardiff can cost so much, especially at weekends and during big events. As an alternative, consider checking into a self-catering flat with its own kitchen. Often these flats are hidden away on the top floors of city center buildings. A great example is the historic O’Neill Flat on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, available for £420 for five days in late September, with rooms for four adults.
GET ON A BIKE
London’s “Boris bikes” have attracted the most attention, but other cities also have similar programs that let you rent a bicycle and explore at your own pace, saving you on public transport or car parking costs.
Among the smaller cities with their own programs are Newcastle (casual members pay around £1.50 for two hours) and Cardiff (free for up to 30 minutes, or £5 per day).

Planting the Tree
Dig a hole a foot deeper than and twice as wide as the root ball of the new tree.loosen the soil at the bottom and sides of the hole,so roots will be able to easily enter the soil.
Gently remove the tree from the container and guide the tree into the hole.Build soil up and around the roots if necessary,so the tree is at the same soil level as it was originally grown.
Straighten the tree in the hole. Before you begin filling, have someone view the tree from several directions to confirm that the tree is straight. You should fill the hole with existing soil that has been mixed with rich materials. At this time you can also add bone meal and then water the tree.
Caring for the Tree
Caring for the tree once it is planted is an important step so you should provide regular watering.Always feel the soil before watering,as over-watering can also harm the tree. When soil is dry below the surface of the covering,it’s time to water. You will probably need to water at least once a week.Continue until mid-fall,when lower temperatures call for less-frequent watering.
When to Plant a Tree
Now that you know how to plant a tree, the next step is deciding when to plant.Spring and fall are generally the best times to plant a tree. This gives the tree time to adjust(调整)before summer heat or winter cold arrives. In areas without cold winters, trees may be planted during the winter.
1. Which of the following is one of the suggestions for planting a tree?A.Making the tree straight in the hole. |

The race was set in the French Alps. Setting off at 6:15 am on Friday, 39-year-old Mason battled through severe pain, and hallucinations (幻觉), but she pushed on---managing to complete the race in an impressive four days, 23 hours, and 41 minutes. Andrea had been diagnosed with cancer and needed life-saving surgery. Following a successful operation, she is now hoping to raise awareness of women’s health. In the past year, Andrea set up her own charity, Lady Talk Matters, in order to normalize the conversation surrounding female health.
Andrea, from Blackpool in Lancashire, England, said, “I am so happy all went according to plan as there were so many things that could have gone wrong. I wanted to do it in five days, and I did, but it was very tough. I had some low moments, particularly when I couldn’t sleep in my limited rest periods, and when I couldn’t keep any food down as I was running. For sure I had some doubts along the way as I was exploring the unknown with such a huge run, particularly as large parts of it were in the dark. It was bigger than I imagined, the impact on my body was huge, but every time I felt like giving up, I thought about all the women out there in pain or who still hadn’t been diagnosed. That is why I put myself through this.”
Andrea had to swim 23 miles around Lake Annecy, cycle 205 miles with 30,000 feet of vertical climbing around Mont Blanc, and run 105 miles with 4,000 feet of vertical climbing around The Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc. You could say Andrea’s actually spent a lifetime training for an event like this. She completed her first three-mile race “powered by chocolate bars” when she was just four.
