One day a farmer’s donkey (驴) fell down into a well (井) which was of no use. The animal cried for hours as the farmer tried to find out what to do. The farmer tried his best, however, none of his ways worked. Finally, he decided to give up because the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway. So he decided to bury (埋) the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They each held a shovel (铲) and began to shovel dirt (土) into the well. At first, the donkey realised what was happening and cried terribly again, then slowly he became quiet. A few shovels later, the farmer looked down the well, and was greatly surprised at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the side of the well and got out quickly!
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The good way of getting out of the well is to stop crying, and not to let the dirt bury you, but to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest well just by not stopping, never giving up, shaking it off, and taking a step up!
根据短文内容判断正、误。(注意:考生将答题卡相应位置涂黑。正确的涂“A”,错误的涂“B”)36. The farmer was too old to help the donkey out of the well.
37. The well needed covering up because it was useless.
38. The farmer invited some of his neighbors to come over and help him.
39. The donkey cried terribly again because it knew it was in great danger.
40. From the story we can learn that whatever trouble we have, we should free our mind from worries and find our way out.
Climate(气候)change will not only increase the world’s average(平均)temperature, and it will also increase the heatwaves(热浪)that are harming people and wildlife even now. Summertime is quickly becoming a dangerous season for all life on the earth.
Heatwaves have already produced attractive deaths in animals. Heatstroke (中暑)from such e-vents is also a present danger for people, especially the old.
Heatwaves can also have more effects on the bodies of animals. If wild animals are experiencing terribly high temperatures, although you won’t see death, you might see changes in their bodies that show they’re getting close to death. By studying responses like these, scientists could get a nearly warning sign before heatwaves start to produce more serious results. Some research deals with these kinds of responses to make predictions about how climate change will have an influence on humans, animals and ecosystems. As for when this kind of events will happen and just how terrible they’ll be, predictions are different. We can’t say it’s going to happen next year. But if we continue giving off CO2 like this, by the end of this century, we’re going to see heatwaves that will be more powerful than those that have killed large numbers of people and wildlife.
As carbon dioxide(CO2) and other greenhouse gases(气体)keep in heat and raise the earth’s average temperature, the heatwaves will come more often.
Climate change is having a great influence on the earth. Scientists are now calling for action to deal with the bad influence of heatwaves on the planet.

On Jan. 22, 2021, China started a new high-speed railway route(路线) service that connects Beijing with Harbin, the capital of the northeastern province of Heilongjiang. The route is an important part of China’s high-speed railway network(网络), which completes the high-speed rail-way link(连接) between the southern and northern parts of the country.
With a designed speed of 350 km per hour, the service is expected to shorten the travel time from Beijing to Harbin to about five hours, around ninety minutes less than the previous(先前的)fastest railway route. In general, Beijing sends about 6 high speed trains (2 G trains and 4 D trains) to Harbin from 06:34 am to 15:15 pm every day. Specifically, D29 is the first train, G381 is the first high speed train with the shortest travel time, and D27 is the last high speed train which arrives at 23:00 pm at night.
Therefore, forget the dull(枯燥的)moments above those clouds in the plane, and just prepare to see what it looks like on the way in the four provinces including Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang.
