My earliest memory of dad is grabbing（抓住）his hand while we walked together.As I ___________ older, I remembered my father and I listened to many basketball games on the radio. You are walking down the street. Suddenly it starts to rain and you don’t have an umbrella. What do you do? Run or walk?

Most people would rather run because it will get you out of the rain faster. But if you run, you also run into more raindrops. So what should you do?

Things are more complicated (复杂的) than you might think. Franco Bocci, a professor at the University of Brescia in Italy, found that whether you should travel slowly or quickly in rain depends on the wind’s direction and your body’s shape, according to the BBC.

When there is no wind, and the rain lands directly on you, Bocci suggests that you should run and hide as fast as possible. But if the wind comes from behind and blows the rain onto your back, the best thing to do is to walk at the same speed as the wind. This way, both your front and back will stay mostly dry.

This is not all. When the wind blows in from the side, you’ll have to think about one more thing-your body shape. Thinner people are hit by fewer raindrops. In this case, a fatter person had better run while a thinner person should still try to match their speed to the wind.

“In general, the best thing is to run, as fast as you can not always, but in general, “ Bocci told BBC News, “If you’re really thin, it’s more probable that there will be an optimal speed. Otherwise it is better to run fast.”

Now you know what to do next time the rain catches you in the middle of the street. But the best way to stay dry is still to carry an umbrella.

Dorothy and her friends were nervous to get out of the forest as soon as they could, so they hurried along the yellow brick road. It was not long before they came to a wider river.

“What can we do now? “ Dorothy cried. “There isn’t a tree tall enough to fall across this river.”

“There’s no problem, “ the Scarecrow said. “The Tin Woodman will build a raft (木筏).”

And this is what the Tin Woodman did. And while he was busy making the raft, Dorothy found some wild fruit and nuts, which she ate hungrily. Then, because it was taking the Tin Woodman a long time to finish the raft, Dorothy lay down and went to sleep.

The night passed without any problems, and the next morning the small raft was ready. Dorothy sat in the middle with Toto.The lion stood at one end and nearly made the boat sink (沉没) because he was so big and heavy.The Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman stood at the other end.They both had long poles (杆子) that they used to push the raft through the water.

At first all went well, but then the river became so deep that the poles couldn’t touch the bottom. The Tin Woodman said, “If we cannot stay near the land and the yellow brick road, the Wicked Witch of the West will use her magic and hurt us.”

“And then we won’t meet the Wizard, ,and I won’t get any wisdom.” the Scarecrow said.

“And I won’t get a heart.” the Tin Woodman said.

“And I won’t get any courage.” the Lion said.

“And I’ll never get home to Kansas, “ Dorothy said. “We must do something.”

The Scarecrow was able to push the raft to the river bank. Dorothy, Toto, the Lion and the Tin Woodman got off. Before the Scarecrow could get off, however, the boat moved away from the river bank and carried the Scarecrow down the river.

Dorothy said, “Perhaps we’ll meet the raft further down the river. The most important thing now is to get back to the yellow brick road and continue on our way to the City of Emeralds.”

The Lion and the Tin Woodman agreed, and they set off along the river bank. It was not long before they saw the Scarecrow. He was holding onto the pole in the middle of the river. There was no sign of the raft.

Plastic is one of the biggest polluters in our environment. And Coca-Cola was named the world’s number one plastic polluter in 2020. The Coca-Cola company is finally taking action to deal with this growing problem.

Though plastic is very useful, it is also an “alien” material to Earth, because the soil cannot turn plastic back into CO₂ and water. And this is not the only problem. When plastic finally does degrade（降解）, thanks to the sun, it produces greenhouse gas emissions（排放物）and harmful chemicals into the environment, only making the climate（气候）even worse.

The Coca-Cola company is working with a Danish company to create 100% recyclable soda bottles instead of plastic ones.

Creating a paper bottle is challenging. The paper bottle must still follow the same safety standards as the plastic bottles. The carbonated liquid（碳酸液体）in the paper bottle needs to be tested in different environments. Moreover, the paper has to meet the needs of different shapes and sizes for different brands.

The first paper bottle will be tested in Hungary this summer. The bottle is made of a single piece of material instead of separate parts, which would make the bottle weaker. Because paper cannot come into direct contact with the drink, the bottle still includes a（recyclable）plastic inside and cap. However, how to make the paper cap is still unclear yet.

Even if the paper bottles are successful, it will be some time before companies use them instead of plastic that is cheap and easy-to-produce. However, Coca-Cola’s steps are still steps towards a brighter future.

A noisy neighbor can make life challenging, especially if noise goes well into night, or happens during early morning hours. This situation needs to be solved properly, which requires your ability to keep calm.

You should first try to tell your noisy neighbors about the noise. This conversation should be polite, even friendly. You’d better explain the problem in an honest way, and ask the neighbor to turn down the music, or not to hold parties until 3 a.m. You can also add that you realize they hear your noise too, and you are willing to try to stop anything in your behavior that is creating extra noise.

You should know that not all neighbors are going to follow your requirement, and some may act in a bad manner. If the noisy neighbors don’t change their behavior, the next step should be to write the neighbors a letter. The letter should show your grievances (不满) and the dates when the noise was quite terrible. For example, if your neighbor has loud gatherings every Friday night that last into the early morning then write down those dates.

If it doesn’t work, you should report it to local authorities (权力部门), or even the police department, when it is really necessary. Often, however, the problem is solved when the noisy neighbor knows you are going to call the police.

You cannot always require noisy neighbors to be quiet. It is wise not to solve it in an angry or retaliatory (报复性的) fashion. If you have completed the steps and letter,   don’t start hitting walls or floors around in your home or turning up the music to make your neighbors angry. Just have patience and try to talk with your neighbors.
