Father’s love

As a young man, Jack was an excellent artist with a wife and two fine sons. One night, his older son had a serious stomachache. Thinking it was only some _________ disease（疾病）, Jack and his wife didn’t take the boy to the hospital. But the boy _________ suddenly that night.

Guangdong Province decided that primary schools must have swimming lessons from 2020. According to its plan, primary schools must make sure that students in the first and second grades have at least four P. E. lessons a week. In Poland, swimming lessons are not compulsory, but most of the schools have them. I think there should be swimming lessons for primary school students. Swimming is a lifesaving skill.

I was born in a village. I learned to swim in a river near my home when I was 7 or 8. I used to play in the river with my friends every summer. Henry was a very vain(爱慕虚荣的) man and he spent plenty of time looking at himself in the mirror. He even went to the barber's shop every week to have his hair cut. He was nearly fifty, but he didn't want people to know his age, so he always tried his best to make himself look younger. He also spent most of his money on clothes. A week passed and then he received a reply. He opened it quickly, hoping there would be a photo of a beautiful woman inside and that she would like to make friends with him.

However, it was very disappointing(令……失望的) to him. The letter said, "Dear Henry, thank you for writing to me. I work in the clothes factory. Everyone in the factory wants to know what kind of fool will buy such an ugly shirt."

Sam was from a poor country. In order to make money, he went to work in the US three years ago.

Sam was sad but he could do nothing.
