Diebedo Francis Kere is one of the most wonderful Architects（建筑师）from the small West African town of Gando, Burkina Faso. He was born in a _____ village of Gando, which had no running water and no electricity. And no school. He was the first from the village to get an education, but he needed to _____ 20 km away from his home. After getting a _____ to learn in Germany, he worked as a carpenter（木匠） to pay his cost at the university. My daddy had been sick for several years. Last year, the months leading up to Christmas were extremely hard because we knew it would be Daddy’s last. What we usually celebrated as a happy time had a dark cloud hanging over it. Daddy could still walk a little but had hardly spoken. He couldn’t tell any of us, not even my mom but me.
