I bet you and I have a lot in common. I like reading and having friends. I really love trying new foods and going on vacation. I might want to be a pop star, or a teacher when I grow up.

Here’s one other thing to know about me that’s not as ________ as the other things: I was born ________ Down syndrome(唐氏症).

What that means for me is that in some ways I’m a little ________. My face has some qualities that are ________ to other people who have Down syndrome. I needed some ________ help learning how to do things when I was younger. And sometimes I have to deal with people who treat me unfairly ________ I have a disability. But mostly, my life is pretty good.

School has almost always been ________ for me. My grades have been good. I like my school. I was nervous to meet new teachers, but make friends has ________ been a problem for me. I want ________ everyone wants—to fit in and for people to treat me as they could treat anyone else.

I feel that way about ________. I’m just me.

Head coach Lang Ping says their return to the top of the podium(领奖台) on Rio(里约) Olympic Games is a prize for the team’s years of hard work.

“We had been preparing for it for four years and we trained especially hard this year. We prepare for the US and Brazilian teams because these two teams are really strong. If you want to get a medal, you have to defeat one of these teams. So we paid more attention to those games, especially from the quarterfinals(四分之一决赛). ”

Lang Ping says she’s not going to give her team much time to relax in the success from Rio.

“I think that as soon as the athletes walked down from the podium it was time to start preparing for the next game. Talking about big aims, it will be the next Olympic Games, the Tokyo Olympic Games. ”

On Friday, Samsung made an important decision: recalls(召回) one of the most expensive products—Galaxy note 7.

Samsung is going to recall all 2. 5million Galaxy Note 7, because of battery accidents.

The pressure is on Samsung. The company might suffer a great loss(损失). That could mean losing hundreds of, thousands of, if not millions, sales and customers.

Event Three: 19 September, 2016

The giant panda is no longer an endangered animal, following long time of work to save it.

The change was announced as part of an update to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List.

Efforts by China, as its national animal, the giant panda have brought its numbers back. The latest estimates(估计) show a population of 1, 864 adults. There are no exact figures for the numbers of young pandas, but estimates bring the total number of giant pandas to 2, 060.

It shows that the Chinese government’s efforts are effective(有效的).

But there also brought bad news. The eastern gorilla(大猩猩), the world’s largest primate(灵长类动物), is now endangered.

Manners are all about making other people feel comfortable by the way we behave. It’s thinking of others and how they perceive (看待) us. The following tips on how to act in social situation can help you better to do in the adult world.

Tip 1

It’s not hard to be a gentleman. Just treat others the way you’d like to be treated. You’re probably already doing many of them, like saying “please” and “thank you”.

Don’t interrupt (打断). Wait until you’re sure others have finished speaking before adding your own thoughts.

At meals, always wait until everyone is seated and served before you start eating. And never talk with your mouth full.

Tip 2

Your first impression starts with how you greet people. It’s their first opportunity to get to know you.

Be sure to introduce everyone in your group so they feel comfortable. If it’s your first time meeting someone, you should stand, shake hands, and say, “I’m glad to meet you.” A handshake is the only nice physical contact in most work settings.

Tip 3

One basic rule is you shouldn’t text or play with your phone when you’re supposed to be paying attention to someone. Silence your phone, i-pad or others when you’re anywhere its ringing and alerts would be disturbing (打扰) to others: movies, concert, library, etc.

Tip 4

There are some general manner rules for clothing. For example, you shouldn’t wear a hat indoors unless you’re at a sporting event or something similar. It’s also important to know what to wear for different occasions (场合). Even with business-clothes, your clothing should be clean and formal.
