Trees clean the air, soil and water, making the Earth a better place for us to live in. Everyone should try their best to protect trees.
First, try to save trees in the area where you live. Generally, large, old trees can better help improve the environment (保护环境) than small, young trees. That’s why it’s important to save as many older trees as possible. When you see a tree getting cut down, try to find out why. Sometimes trees are destroyed or diseased (被破坏或患病), so they need to be cut down. Otherwise, it’s still possible to save the tree. Planting enough new trees can also help. You should plant trees that are native to your area so that they can grow big enough easily to clean the air and water.
Second, change (改变) your living habits. People cut down millions of trees each year to keep the paper industry (造纸工业) going, so using fewer paper products in your daily life can help save trees. For example, use cloth towels instead of paper towels. If you must use paper products, always buy the recycled ones. Eating less beef can also help protect trees. It may seem strange to most people, but you should know that people are cutting down rainforest trees so that people can have land to keep more cattle.
26. We can know that trees are ______ from Paragraph 1.A.beautiful | B.dangerous | C.important | D.unusual |
A.Because they look better than small young trees. |
B.Because they can help people make more money. |
C.Because they can do better in improving the environment. |
D.Because they make cleaner oxygen. |
A.stop him as soon as possible |

C.try to help him |
D.make a plan to plant a new tree |
A.eat less meat | B.use paper bags |
C.eat more beef | D.use cloth towels |

C.Changing habit helps save trees | D.Plant more trees to save the Earth |
