When people want to travel in France, maybe they’ll think of Paris first. Almost everybody visits the capital when travelling in France.

But it’s also good to enjoy small town life in different countries. There are a few towns like that in France. Those places are quite different from big cities. One of them is called Bayeux.

Bayeux is a town in the north of France. It is not the most famous part of France. But if you go there, you’ll fall in love with its small shops, nice streets, friendly people and its traditional food. The Bayeux Cathedral is the most famous building there. This huge church (教堂) is on a hill, so you can see it from anywhere in town. The church is about 1,000 years old.

A trip to Bayeux will make your holiday in France more fun. If you travel there, you will see another side (面) of France. You might think that it’s better than Paris after the trip.

China has worked to help other endangered species as well. Yunnans’ snub-nosed monkey (滇金丝猴) and the crested ibis (朱鹮) are among them. The crested ibis was once widespread (分布广泛) in east China. But later, people thought they might die out. In 1981, scientists found seven crested ibises in the world. Scientists started breeding programs to save the birds, so the number of crested ibises has increased more than 7,000 in China.
