Every year, the Touching China Award recognizes people who have made significant contributions (贡献) to society through their work and actions. This year, a group of retired (退休的) professionals in China won the award for their ________ in sharing knowledge through short videos.

There are former teachers, scientists and engineers in the group. They ________ videos on a range of topics, such as literature and science.

Wu Yuren, for example, is a retired physics teacher. She became known ________ “Grandma Wu” on social media for her ________ and easy-to-understand physics experiments. “I made these videos to arouse (引发) young people’s curiosity about daily life and use everyday tools to ________ the wonder of science, ” Wu told People’s Daily. Wu is in her 70s but ________ writes her scripts (脚本) and looks for help from other teachers.

________ award winner is Wang Pinxian. He is an 87-year-old marine geologist (海洋地质学家) and teacher at Tongji University’s School of Ocean and Earth Science. Over the past two years, Wang has used his videos to share his ________ of the ocean with viewers. He looks at things like the ________ of the Bermuda Triangle (百慕大三角) and ________ sea monsters really exist.

The ________ of these videos has been well-tested. Thousands of viewers have watched and ________ the group’s content. Many followers ________ their thanks for the opportunity to learn new things and stay in ________ with the world around them.

According to CCTV, their videos are like “classrooms without walls and universities without barriers (障碍)”. In the words of the Touching China Award jury, “The popularity created by gray-haired people has created real ________.”

①Last week, my father and I went back to my hometown—Zibo in Shandong—to try Zibo barbecue（烧烤）. Recently, the local food has become so popular that people all over China travel there to taste it.

②On the way to Zibo, my father told me a story. Last year during the COVID-19 pandemic（疫情）, thousands of college students were stuck in Zibo. The local government helped students to get through that period and offered a great barbecue dinner when the quarantine（隔离）was over. The government officers also invited the students to come back to Zibo again when spring came. I was moved when I heard this.

③At 5 p.m., we arrived at the restaurant. My father had booked a table two days earlier.Otherwise（否则）, there wouldn’t be any seats for us. There are some differences between Zibo’s barbecue and the ones in other cities. Zibo’s barbecue restaurants have a small gill（烤架）on each table. People need to cook on the grill by themselves. When the food is ready, you put it onto a small pancake, and then add scallions（葱）and sauce before eating.

④★But we just talked naturally about daily life and sang together. The boss of the restaurant even danced. Some local people even put off their orders when they heard there weren’t enough seats. They wanted tourists from other places to have the chance to eat.

⑤After eating the delicious food, I kept thinking about why Zibo became popular. Is it the promise between the government and the college students, or the tasty food, or the warm-hearted people?

When Suansuan first read Peach Blossom Shangri-la(《桃花源记》) in her high school Chinese textbook, she didn’t think too much about it. One day in college, she     51     (remember) the essay(文章) again. After furthering her studies, she r    52     that there is more than she first saw to the 320-word text. For example, the peach blossom Shangri-la not only appears in Tao Yuanming’s essay,     53     in many poems, paintings and plays. The fisherman in the text doesn’t have a name, for he is a symbol of a special group of people—the hermits(隐士).

The simple text became much more fun and attractive to Suansuan. She wants to s    54     her ideas with more people—by making videos. To better     55     (呈现) her ideas, she paints in her videos. For a video under 10 minutes in length, she may draw up to 80 drafts(画稿).

Starting in May 2019, she has made more than 50 videos. Seven are about the hidden stories b    56     some texts in Chinese textbooks. The r    57     are about learning methods and other works of literature(文学). These have earned her more than 1.5 million fans on Bilibili, many of whom are teenagers. Suansuan said the two things that bring her the most happiness are learning and     60     (create). Making videos combines both. So she will keep doing it.
