I interviewed some parents and students about their ideas on having hobbies. Most students think they should     26     (allow) to have hobbies. It can bring them a sense of accomplishment (成就). 	This is the plastic that you often see on supermarket shelves! It’s used to make plastic water bottles and biscuit boxes.
	HDPE is a stronger type of plastic. It is what milk bottles are made of.
	LDPE is a very soft plastic which is not easily broken. It is what shopping bags are made of.
	This plastic is often seen in our daily life. You’ll probably have seen it as those cheap white cups you get hot drinks in, or as takeaway food packaging.

My friend and I decided that we would record a short dance together. It all started when she saw a dance video online and was attracted by it.

Learning the steps did not take long. Both of us were somewhat experienced in dance. But the actual recording was quite painful. Two weeks after our decision, I arrived at her dance room, well-rested and ready to go. Our first problem quickly arose. I found that we had different ways to learn. My friend memorized the moves according to the lyrics, but I memorized them according to the eight-counts. Then I made a compromise (妥协).

After that, we set up our recording equipment, and began three hours of hard work. Our second problem was my fault. Throughout the recording, I kept on doing poor spins ( 旋 转 ) that landed me too far from my friend. Sometimes I would also accidentally hit my friend on the head.

We ended up not being satisfied with the recording. I wonder if this is the same feeling that professional dancers feel after some performances. Nevertheless (然而), we picked out one video that was slightly better than all the others and posted it on social media and got some compliments from our friends and family. We felt so excited because it became popular online. Three hours for 16 seconds of film: This sure was an afternoon well spent.

Several Asian hospitals are doing experiments (实验) with tele-medicine (远程医疗). It is a technology that allows doctors to “see” patients without them being in the same place. This is made possible through high-speed communication networks (网络).At both ends of the line, the way of video-meeting lets them see and talk to each other. Blood pressure and body temperature are directly shown on computers.

Tele-medicine is already in wide use in some places such as the United States and Germany. Among other uses, village doctors hold “consultations (会诊)” with far-away experts. The experts can also help them during operations.

Tele-medicine has been slow to reach Asia because of high costs, besides other reasons. When things improve, this technology will develop very fast. Chinese University of Hong Kong’s medical school has joined a big hospital in Beijing, and Thailand is building a telemedicine station connecting 20 areas.

Tele-medicine will do good to patients because doctors from different places can see them and give their medical advice. The help is quite important if the disease is an unusual one. It also helps spread medical knowledge among experts.

As tele-medicine develops well, its costs will be lower and it will become very popular in the medical field.

I’m sure we all know that exercise is great for us. But to be honest, many people can’t keep on exercising.     61

When you exercise, your body produces endorphins (内啡肽), which will give you happiness.     62     So next time you’re having a bad clay, go for a fast run or play tennis, and the day won’t seem so bad any more.

Andrea stopped the car. When the old lady got in, Andrea could see that she was not that little. She was in a long dress and had a hat pulled down low over her eyes. She put her big brown shopping bag down onto the floor.

“Do you live in Brockboune?” asked Andrea. “No, dear,” answered the old lady in a low voice, “I’m just going to visit a friend, but my car won’t start, so I decided to hitchhike (搭便车).”

Something in the way the lady spoke made Andrea uneasy. Andrea secretly studied the half-covered face, the shapeless body, the arms with their thick black hairs... Thick black hairs? Andrea’s blood froze (凝固). This wasn’t a woman. It was a man!

Her heart was beating wildly and her mind raced. Then suddenly, an idea came up to her. She stopped the car in a sudden. “My God!” she shouted, “A child! Did you see the child? I think I hit her!” “I didn’t see anything,” the “old lady” said, “I don’t think you hit anything.” “I’m sure it was a child!” shouted Andrea. “Could you just get out and have a look?” The “old lady” slowly opened the car door, leaving her bag inside. As soon as “she” was out of the car. Andrea drove away as soon as possible.

Several minutes later, Andrea thought about the “old lady’s” bag and opened it carefully. There was only one thing in it—a shining knife.
